Yeah dude I was thinking of your dads truck when I saw it. Funny story, first time I ever drove anything I was probably 14 and my dad let me drive his 76 he's still driving today. I remember it like yesterday, we were moving to the extremely secluded area of New Mexico they live in now, it was...

    Ignition Switch Help..

Pick one of these tools up, it makes removing and installing that locking plate a million times easier. I personally tried for several hours without the tool and gave up, with the tool it took five minutes. 89 Sub did a great writeup on taking steering columns apart and stuff.

    Thinking about a new carb

I have herd of this, its actually sold by LMC truck. I was just wondering if it made a difference whether the engine is under load or not. So if you rev it in neutral in your driveway is it the same as when its in gear pullin hard down the road?

    Thinking about a new carb

Hell yeah jim, the factory setup that was in my current 1406 I got from the hill billy tractor pull event was way off for a 305. You have to consider alot of guys dont want to mess with a carb so they go straight to Autozone and buy a ready to go unit, edelbrock figures its most likely going on...

    Thinking about a new carb

Yeah man you have a problem if its getting 8mpg, at one point I was getting 17MPG in my K1500 with a Carter AFB. I would not give up on the 1406 right away, order the tuning kit and play around with your primary metering rods, springs and jets. Those little covers on top of the carb with the...

    New from West Virginia

Also while I am rambling on and on I should mention what bad fuel can do. I ran tarnished old nasty horrible gas through a carb I had just rebuilt and it wrecked everything. The gas was around 10 years old so you might not have this problem but here is my horror story. The sticky gasoline got on...

Well usually you dont want one that is leaking gas all over the place, thats a big problem. A carburetor in poor condition can cause vacuum leaks, bad performance and bad mileage. If it idles smooth, is not leaking and smoothly accelerates I would just leave it alone. Dont be afraid to tear...

    Ez-wiring kit

I read around on different forums and it seems like a decent kit, if the most popular reviews is that the kit causes dash fires I would probably save up for a painless but the biggest bitch anyone had was that the directions suck and they got all confused. Good idea guys, Im gonna go for it as...

    Ez-wiring kit

I found this kit in a magazine, the ad said it uses all GM plugs. The fuse block looks like whats in my truck, I cant confirm right now since im not around my truck. I am wondering if this would be a good kit to buy for a complete re-wire, its about 1/3rd the price of a painless kit. If its...

I think your okay starting it, I have seen a small 3/8s nut go down into a 460. It made some noise and gave the combustion chamber a different style finish but nothing major happen, I would think all that crap from the nest will be fine. If you have a shop vac laying around you could stick the...

The big wheel craze has come and gone, they can still look great in the right application. My buddies Monte Carlo was ridiculous, he had to cut notches in the frame just to turn the car.
