Whoa! Blue Betty, Bam-a-Lam. (My dream mod thread)

That thing is way beautiful, if it was mine I would keep the paint just how it is, lower it and find some nice looking 15 inch wheels.

Hello from Arizona! To bad you sold the 454SS, there could have been two of us with those trucks on here. Are you on the NATC forum?

Happy (Belated) 3rd Birthday to GMSB !!!

If half the dumb-asses here were computer literate I could recruit some real heavy hitters in the squarebody world. You cant throw a rock in any direction without hitting a squarebody. Just the other day I was following a friends directions to his house and he said "there is a red K5 parked out...

    Anyone lower a 4x4

I have seen this several times, you will need a few things to make it look correct. Make sure you can find some 15x14 inch wheels with low profile tires, you will need a chrome triple tube roll bar and a bunch of chrome off road lights as well as a taco shaped cowboy hat. Other good compliments...

    wheel bearings?

I did a write up on wheel bearings in the tech section, everything is so cheap you might as well do it. The buzzing sound is striking me as a problem with your 4 wheel drive hubs, take the caps off and look at everything, maybe go with some aftermarket WARN ones or something.

    Love Jeeps?

Those are some bad ass Jeeps! Believe it or not there is a FC-150 sitting at my parents house, its just the cab and frame. I saw a complete one sitting in a junkyard in Roswell New Mexico, I have been meaning to go find the owner since I have only personally seen those 2.

    Mexican 1000

Leaf spring class looks like the most fun you can have with pants on, I had no idea that existed. I did not know there was a way into desert racing that did not involve several thousands of dollars for long travel suspension.

Irish's pickup from hell, the 454SS.

Dont forget how much lighter the boots are! Ever notice how when you wear steel toes in the freezing cold your toes never seem to get warm? Composite toe also eliminates that!

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

If it was a 67-72 year bed I would stop at nothing to acquire it, I would probably put insurance on it just in case something happen to it before I sold it.

Irish's pickup from hell, the 454SS.

I usually wear workboots everywhere, they are composite toe. These boots are just about done for, maybe I will give them the viking death and drop a big block on them when I am swapping engines just to see what happens (not with my foot in it).

Irish's pickup from hell, the 454SS.

Its okay until you get heads on, then stuff is gonna get scary! Its so fuckin hot here I usually work in my garage in shorts and flip flops, imagine a big block falling on bare feet.......

Irish's pickup from hell, the 454SS.

Hell yeah! Right into the bed so I can move it to the other side of the yard where the truck is. I have 1K pounds of engine on a harbor freight stand that barely wants to roll on concrete and between the engine and the truck its going in is a sea of gravel and a grassy yard.

Irish's pickup from hell, the 454SS.

Those are some greezy suns of bitches! Harbor freight sells a nice little gas pressure washer that could fix that, just cover everything in degreaser spray and get after it. I did it to my 85 one time and it looked way nicer in the engine compartment.

Irish's pickup from hell, the 454SS.

These pistons should work for now, later on when I change heads I will gain a little more compression. I just want it back on the road mostly :rockit: I like how the factory timing chain cover and factory valve covers look so I had to go with a single roller chain. That is actually a GM...

    Air tools and equipment questions...

Not sure but its chingon, if you get hot rod magazine they usually have a coupon page and sell these things like hot cakes, you might be able to score one for 150 bucks or so. My favorite part is the size, big enough to do some damage with air tools but you can roll it around your garage or roll...

    Air tools and equipment questions...

I use this one, http://www.harborfreight.com/25-horsepower-21-gal-125-psi-cast-iron-vertical-air-compressor-67847.html Its been a great compressor considering how much I abuse it. Its just big enough to run a D/A sander, you have to stop and let it cool off every once in a while but I...

Irish's pickup from hell, the 454SS.

Well need some help guys, I am going to cross reference so parts numbers to figure it out but still figured I would ask. I am missing all the bolts for the oil pan, timing chain cover and all that shit. I was just going to order ARP but since I wont be driving the truck I am thinking about...

Irish's pickup from hell, the 454SS.

Thats pretty good, I have always herd they get 10 regardless of how you drive it or what its in. I think with a roller drive train and a all the TBi stuff working right I could probably do that.

Irish's pickup from hell, the 454SS.

In other news, the engine in the truck right now is done for. I am surprised it lasted this long. The oil pressure has been getting progressively worse and the latest things is the lifters collapsing and dropping cylinders, you have to rev it and get oil pressure before it runs right. Its always...
