Where is this interior leak coming from?

A rope form is a good idea, and that's prolly what i'll do if my solution turns out to not be a solution (Lexel). So far so good, though! It's not leaking through the vent, but rather behind the kick panel and running down, which I have fixed, for the time being. lol

Where is this interior leak coming from?

This is kinda what happened... the vent is sealed around the kick panel from the factory, and when I removed the passenger side kick panel when I was restoring all the plastics, I noticed silicone caulk around it, but never replaced it. The truck always sat in the dry then, so I never noticed a...

Where is this interior leak coming from?

Thanks for the recs! The truck sat outside, but not under trees, but near them, for 7 years. Since I’ve had it, it’s been in the dry until now. It’s a pretty clean truck with minimal rust (rockers), but I’m believing y’all that it’s a clogged drain and coming in the kick panel area. The vent in...

Where is this interior leak coming from?

When it rains, passenger side gets wet down in the corner angle where your right foot would be. Looks like it’s coming from around the heater core on the right side. Any ideas where it’s coming in from on the outside without me tearing everything apart first? Thanks!

    Why did this rust?

I had no idea brake fluid would dissolve paint and absorb water. That is great to know. As for POR15, I am getting some soon for the cab floor, so maybe I will do that, then I wouldn't have to tape anything, just hand paint it. Will post updates here in a few months when i do paint. Just went...

    Why did this rust?

Whilst bleeding my brakes, I left the lid off and brake fluid went everywhere. Sure. Fine. Whatever. I cleaned it up. Couple days later I found this: Why?? Should I tape and paint??

What master cylinder and booster do I get?

Replaces both front rubber lines and the single rear while I was at it.

What master cylinder and booster do I get?

Went with the cheapest options from EBay for MC and BB. Rod coming from the booster was short, and previous truck owner had welded a different through pin on the brake bar. I engineered what I needed with an eye bolt, nylon washer, and coupler. Should work great. Gunna bleed the MC, run hard...

What master cylinder and booster do I get?

Super thorough explanations, Keith! Thank you so much! I went ahead and purchased a MC and BB from Ebay, and I will see how that goes. I will keep y'all updated.

What master cylinder and booster do I get?

Couple photos of before and after I took the master cylinder off. Thought I could just put a new one from O’Reilly on, but flanges too think and rod is too long. Realized it had a brake booster in it from the factory and wanna restore it to factory things or better.

What master cylinder and booster do I get?

GVW rating i found to be 5001-6000 and I'm not sure what size the rotors are. I'll have to measure them next time I have the wheels off. Curious why do you ask? I'm trying to understand the physics of it all?

What master cylinder and booster do I get?

'83 C10 Silverado: I inherited this truck, a few people before me had it, so I keep finding odd things that were done to it not factree. The most recent being th master cylinder. I think i have a collapsed line, and I didn't like how the MC and hard lines looked, so I cut them and tried to...

    Need advice for doing Kilmat/Boomat/Dynomat

I think imma be selective, not planning to remove, get some down to kill the noise, then when ready, I can repair whatever needed and finish the job. Also, if I wanna remove the cab, I can tape the floor off. Nbd.

    Need advice for doing Kilmat/Boomat/Dynomat

Haha I just wondered if you meant where the glass goes or just on the outside. Not much surface area, but you can get creative and shake it around, I suppose.

    Need advice for doing Kilmat/Boomat/Dynomat

Good info here. I plan to do most of the cab really thoroughly. Even if I have to remove some for repairs, it shouldn’t be much as there’s not much rust. N just cover the areas with Kilmat before paint removal. The cab won’t be coming off for 5+ years and I don’t want to deal with hot internal...

    Need advice for doing Kilmat/Boomat/Dynomat

to be clear, you're saying that, based on what you've read, covering >60% of the cab may not make enough of a difference? What you've described and shown is exactly what I'm planning to do - doors included to dampen the road/exhaust noise.

    Need advice for doing Kilmat/Boomat/Dynomat

Sup everyone! I’m wanting to get my interior more quiet and comfortable by doing Kilmat and carpet w mass backing. I also might want to remove my cab one day and do a full resto on my truck and repaint the dash and all. Lastly, my truck has a little rust in the typical areas of the rockers...

Best source for a new dash pad for my ‘87? LMC? Brothers? Other?

Seems to be the common theme. Someone glued carpet cover over mine, and it's great for holding screws whilst im working on something, but I want a cleaner look now. I think imma repair mine myself. Looks like fun work and rewarding. I'll post pics when I get the time to rebuild.
