    Thanks for the replies. The '75 frame currently has the flat crossmember as is shown in the posted photos; it came with TH350 and NP203. I have the newer crossmember for the NP208 and was going to use that with the TH400/NP208 combo. Does that mean a newer exhaust setup would work front to back?

    Thanks all for the comments. My understanding is that off-roaders can use the flat-top knuckles to set up crossover steering...something like that. I just know that they have a little more resale value than a later Dana or the GM 10-bolt front axle.

    Replying to this with a follow up question. Found a 10 bolt posi, 3.73 gearing from an 84 Chevy van that's available. Provided it's a pre 88 axle, this should be an 8.5 ring gear and fit in any other 10 bolt axle, front or rear, correct?
