    triple stripe?

It might be less expensive to have a pinstriper do them with paint. As I remember it, I paid a guy $150 to do mine.

Get new door panels or freshen up existing panels?

It's not dyeing, which usually involves immersion of fabrics in a vat of liquid. We're spray painting our interiors.

    Looking for my first squarebody

Why bother with inspections if you don't have to? We can't even do an LS swap in Cali without having to meet the much tighter standards for the newer engine. Kinda takes the fun out of it if you don't pass the test and end up with a vehicle you can't register. Buy pre-'76 and do whatever you...

    383 Vortec/TBI Build Thread

The original receipt for mine is missing so I googled Walbro 190 and the only kit that matched all the same bits was the 710-2. I know the kit I installed was for Mustangs and so is the 710-2 so I took an educated guess that it's the same kit. I'm thinking the 43 psi refers to the rating...

    Chevrolet Veraneio

I like it. To me, it looks like what you would get if an 80's Land Cruiser had sex with a '56 Bel Air wagon.

    383 Vortec/TBI Build Thread

Well, Amazon is one of the places Walbro lists as a source of fake pumps. How would you know a real from a copy? I read some threads on other forums where guys thought they received a genuine pump only to find out after install it was noisy and died soon after the install. I didn't see that...

    Differential leak

From everything I've read these plug welds are done with nickel, which might as well be powdered unicorn horn for all the luck I've had finding someone local that can re-weld them. I decided to try a home repair first and used a JB Weld type of epoxy to see if that fixes it. I'm a little...

    383 Vortec/TBI Build Thread

Walbro's 190lph pump is a better match for a mild 383. They list the 190 as being able to support up to 500 hp and you don't run the risk of overwhelming the return line and building false pressure. If you're looking for a Walbro, don't trust that good price you found on Ebay. The following is...

    Differential leak

Confirmed. Drove 20 miles and thought I could see some weeping on the passenger side plug. Wiped it off and drove back, could easily see it when I got home. (and found out my new camera takes pretty good close-ups lol) So now I have to decide whether I want to try welding this myself or...

    Differential leak

I agree. It's been raining too much to deal with this until today. It doesn't make sense that both plugs would fail but it sure looks like that's where the problem is. Going to clean/dry everything and go for a drive to get a fresh look. Hope it's just the cover.

Hadn't considered that, but I just checked and front half of the diff is dry.

    Differential leak

It looks like my 14b/sf is weeping from the axle tube housings. From the wetness pattern it doesn't look like it's the cover. Some sort of manufacturing holes there but don't know what purpose they serve. Something to do with locking the axle tubes to the diff maybe. So what are my options for...

    Glove Box Lamp/Switch?

    295/75/16 vs 315/75/16

I'd go with the shorter tire if I were keeping the 3.73 gears. 4.10 and 35" tires is a good compromise for a non-overdrive trans. That's the combo I've been running for 15 years and like it. Accelerates at a decent pace from a stop and easy cruising rpm at 65 which is about as fast as I ever go.

What is the brak lever assembly attached to the rear diff?

It does work, when I was trying to figure it out I turned the adjustment the wrong way and nearly hit the steering wheel when I touched the brakes. If you decide to disconnect it you bypass it hydraulically and remove the valve and linkage as described in chengny's post linked above.

What is the brak lever assembly attached to the rear diff?

Do your brake lines still go to the lspv or has it been bypassed per the tsb?

What is the brak lever assembly attached to the rear diff?

chengny posted a GM tsb that was issued for mechanics instructing them on how to bypass the LSPV (load sensing proportioning valve) so it's not absolutely necessary to retain it. I kept mine but had to add a length of 1/8" thick flat stock mounted vertically to account for the 4" lift...
