Need at least 35" tires for my dually.

Pro Comp has a 315/75r16 tire that is 35" but I don't know what you consider "big bucks" on pricing. These are about $35 per tire les than a similar BFGoodrich. I waited for a sale and got 4 for the price of three...

What is your daily if not square body?

'94 Accord wagon. Actually bought it so my old dog could use a ramp to get in and out but I calculated the fuel savings of driving this instead of the Suburban and at 30K miles it had paid for itself.

    Power steering cooler question

Keep the cooler, it's not the cause of the noise and some aftermarket pumps require them.

    Tool Box

If you can afford it and want it then there's no reason to ask us what we think. My toolbox stays in my garage and nobody sees it but me so there's no incentive to have something fancy. I saved money on the outside so I could put more on the inside.

What new tools have you got lately?

Picked up a new shop vac to replace my trusty old Craftsman that developed emphysema after 15 years of use. This one is a Rigid WD1851, 16 gal/6.5 hp. I like the wheels on this one, the Craftsman had tiny wheels and would always fall over if you tried to drag it by the hose. This one follows me...

    383 Vortec/TBI Build Thread

Have you tried using a load leveler? Being able to tilt the engine on removal and install really helps. I have the OTC 4305, it's well built and rated for 1500 lbs. Another thing I like is the Harbor Freight 8 ton air/hydraulic ram (item 94562) for my hoist. I put an 8' air hose on the trigger...

    A Thread about Dodges

Never have owned a Dodge. They have some good looking designs but I don't trust the fit and finish. Talking to owners, they complain about squeaks, rattles, and random shit falling off. Makes perfect sense that they are owned by Fiat.

    extended bumpstops

I thought the same thing. I removed the front left stop because it was a good spot for my compressor's regulator and needed the hole. The front suspension can't flex far enough to need the stops because the 35" tires hit the inner wheel well first, and the back end has Ride-Rites to maintain...

    AC Delco professional shocks

Mine is only a seven leaf pack and was handling like a drunk fat lady on the dance floor. Too much weight up high with 4" lift, 35" tires, and 300 lbs on the roof rack. The rear bar made a huge difference on mine but your situation is different.

Does that include a rear bar?

    AC Delco professional shocks

Yeah, don't spend all your money on shocks. Front and rear sway bars with polyurethane bushings will do far more for your truck's road manners than shocks. Get the squeaky red bushings from Energy Suspension, they come with the @Honky Kong jr seal of approval.:33:

    Rear shock mount problem

I have more of the square washers I used if you want to go that route. If it's too ghetto of a fix for you I'm not offended. Just PM your addy if you want one and I'll send it out.

    Polyurethane vs rubber

True. For the vast majority of ES bushings its the same compound with different coloring mixed in. I tried to nail down what percentage of their products have graphite in them and the ES rep was struggling to come up with a number so I said "10 percent?" "No, much less." "5 percent?" "Less than...

    Rear shock mount problem

1/2 and 3/4 T are the same. Luckily, the failure prone bracket is only used on the driver's side while the passenger side mount goes through the frame. The difference is because the d/s shock leans towards the back and the p/s leans forward. The frame height at the two mounting locations is...

    Custom Door Lock Knobs

I'm also interested in these but can see where this is going. You'll get enough orders that you'll start looking for ways to increase production while reducing costs. Pretty soon you'll turn to offshore manufacturing and...

    Rear shock mount problem

Count me in. Mine had a nice little section broken out and the shock was flopping around. I had some washers from a construction job laying around that looked to be about the right right size (1 5/8" square x 1/4" thick) and just needed the center hole drilled out. I was too chicken to weld it...

    Hydraulic question - Cherry picker

I bought a air/hydraulic ram for my old Carolina hoist and it works great. Nice to have a hand-held trigger on a long hose when hoisting an engine by myself. Can't see yours well enough to tell if this would directly bolt on but it wouldn't be hard to fab something up if you have access to a...

    11" or 13" drums?

Thanks, I wanted confirmation before letting it go. I haven't seen 11" drums before, even my 14b sf has 13" drums. I figured that shoulder on the drum's outer edge would be the tell that they are the small ones.

    11" or 13" drums?

Can anybody tell from the pic what size drums are on the axle pictured? They look smallish to me and I'm thinking they are 11". Saw this 14b ff on craigslist but want the larger 13" brakes. Second pic is what I assume is a 13" drum.

    Need obscure bearing

That was my original thought as well until I looked at a picture of it. It's more of a bushing than a typical roller bearing so not something you would find just sitting on the shelf at a bearing supply house. Lots of sites list it as nla so the op should be happy that it can be found at all...
