    5.3LS won’t rev?

@gmbellew its cable, with full range of travel @Ricko1966 po354 would be the second one on passenger side right? That cool is loose in the bracket if that matters? All the others don’t move but that one jiggles. I observed my o2 sensor wiring after the exhaust and it all appears fine along with...

    5.3LS won’t rev?

I ordered 2.5” pipe and I’m going to redo it just incase since the manifolds have 2.5” pipe. I just don’t understand what all of a sudden caused this issue. It will rev fine to 1500ish then just cut off. I can hold it to the floor and it repeatedly just bounces up and returns to idke

    5.3LS won’t rev?

The MIL came on with code po354, could that have any correlation with the issue? I’ve ordered a complete 2.5” exhaust kit and plan on redoing the exhaust. I just don’t have any idea why it’s all of a sudden an issue.

    5.3LS won’t rev?

The truck ran fine before getting exhaust done other than occasional idle surge. I just had them connect the existing exhaust on the truck to the manifolds (2” pipe) and apparently that’s too small? I’m looking into going to 2.5” pipe since it’s got dual exhaust the whole way back

    5.3LS won’t rev?

So I ls swapped my 78 k10 about a month ago and I’ve been waiting on exhaust. I got my exhaust at done today and now the truck won’t rev up? I can hold it to the floor and it will just bounce and return to idle repeatedly. If I crank it I can rev it twice then it returns to no rev. The MIL...

    Quadrabog bogs

@Rusty Nail @Snoots are these words and emotes of approval or disappointment Edit: grinding noise was the top of the shield around the brake caliper touches the wheel just barely

    Alternator not charging at idle

Yes, like I mentioned in the other thread, the starting issue is intermittent so I’m thinking I’ve got a ground or heat issue, rather than timing. It’ll crank slow then fire I can shut it off and it’ll crank fine.

    Alternator not charging at idle

Yes, 12° initial without vac advance Vac advanced is ported For setting idle speed do you not set the idle screw for 0 vacuum at idle but starts pulling vacuum as you barely touch throttle? Transfer slots a squareish shape? I’m happy with the idle speed of it currently, I don’t have a tach but...

    Quadrabog bogs

Timing is at 12° btdc, carb adjusted to highest vacuum at 18inhg Other than a little hiccuping and the slow crank when hot I’ve got the truck running pretty good. I’ve got the drivers front wheel off right now because I could hear a grinding sound(possibly audible in video?) The slow crank...

    Alternator not charging at idle

Timing shows 12° advanced. It was at around 15 I brought it down to 12. Mechanical advance seems to work aswell. I set timing at 12 and I’m working on getting highest vacuum but the mixture screw on drivers side is really hard to turn. Any suggestions?

    Alternator not charging at idle

The tab was on backwards, one bolt too low, and bent. I cleaned it and straightened it and got it back on. I’ll try and see where it’s showing the timing at and see if it’s even remotely close

    Alternator not charging at idle

I know how to get an idea of tdc but how do I get it exactly at top dead center? Edit: the timing tab on the engine is one that goes in two of the timing chain cover bolts. I may pull those two bolts and see if I can straighten it or find a different one and see if it’s accurate

    Alternator not charging at idle

No idea where timing is, tab is bent over Nope has stock manifolds and a shield over the starter Connections at starter are tight, wire insides maybe? Starter appears new

    Quadrabog bogs

@Rusty Nail i tightened the ground, valve cover bolt was loose, but I need to find a bolt for the back of the head and I’ll swap it to there. @BiGSM00TYGrande the timing tab is bent over, I was looking the other day and it’s like it was put on backwards. So I don’t really know where about the...

    Quadrabog bogs

The port on the intake is not clogged the engine stalled the first time I took the line off. I couldn’t get the end out of the modulator, I could slide the rubber back but the metal line didn’t have enough give to come out.

    Quadrabog bogs

Here’s a video I couldn’t find, I found it so here’s the issue with the “bog” it rarely seems to do it anymore but it did it while still cool after I kicked off the high idle

    Quadrabog bogs

I’m not sure what did it but there wasn’t a whole lot of white smoke this time. You could barely see it at idle and a little bit coming down from a rev. The modulator doesn’t seem to be leaking any? It doesn’t look like my chrome opens fully it’s got slop in it and it moves just a little as you...

    Quadrabog bogs

I’ll crawl under in a few and check it out. Should the engine be warmed first or would it do it cold aswell?

    Quadrabog bogs

Unless the trans has a line on the back of the intake or something, the only visible lines are a ported to the distributor and the pcv which are both fine. The advance for distributor is a metal tube with a small piece of rubber at each end. Which side of the trans is the vacuum line on? I have...

    Quadrabog bogs

I’m not sure what the smell is, I’ve never blown a head gasket, it smells like fuel sometimes but I didn’t get up and in it yesterday and really breathe it in. The smoke does no smell like oil, I’ve burned a lot of oil in my 78 lol. Would condensation not burn off after a while? I drove the...

    Quadrabog bogs

It’s a TH350, and I can move that ground strap to the head. This was my first automatic square spot I really don’t know a whole lot about what goes into them. I know there’s a lockdown cable ran to the carb but I’m not sure if there’s something else going to it? Lead me in the right direction? I...

    Alternator not charging at idle

Nope, the choke has the rod going into intake, heat rise style? Not positive what kind it is. That was also a warm start without choke so idle was at idle speed not a high idle. Could part of the alternator issue cause the slow crank when warm? Or is that more starter issue? I did verify the...

    Quadrabog bogs

Late response, I got lost in an ls swap. The ground strap goes from a valve cover bolt to the firewall instead of traditionally head to firewall, but it’s there and seemed fine condition. I’ve got the truck running pretty well, the ground was a little wet today and the truck spun all four fairly...
