    Keyless entry upgrade

I even ended up with Driver 1 & 2 remotes eventually. I was shocked to find the radio presets were specific to each remote / driver too!

    Keyless entry upgrade

I used a serial but radio w/XM Satellite from a 2005 LeSabre in my '84 Caprice. I added the Keyless entry with the security system features shortly after. In that vehicle (and probably others), the Dash Interface Module (DIM) is the Power Mode Master. I also used the Instrument Panel Control...

    Pumping Air to a Catalyst

Locking a torque converter on a "cold" engine could allegedly cause driveability problems. GM allowed torque converters to lock at about 125F (engine temp) on various platforms, which is still quite cool.

monojet i6 drinking gallons at idle

If these flood, they will kill the engine and fuel will overflow the carburetor. Have you checked to see if fuel is going into the crankcase?

    headlight/seat belt buzzer

To the best of my knowledge (for seat belt, key-in ignition, headlights on), these 7 terminal units appeared in the 1985 models (B-Bodies). Prior to that, it was the same package with 4 terminals and 3 wires that plugged in else where.

What factory replacement whitewall for a 76 custom deluxe

That is the equivalent size, IIRC. Of the WW tires I know of on the market, the Uniroyal Tiger Paw IIs will look considerably larger and extend past the rim of the same wheels much further than the Hankook Optimos.

    new AC, dead at idle.

Is the A/C working well and was the proper quantity of refrigerant oil added? I've not seen A/C load an engine that badly at idle.

    AC Compressor

I double checked, that Vee belt clutch I used was actually from an '85 Olds Ciera w/2.5L 4 cylinder.

    AC Compressor

I don't know if this is going to help, but it might add a little insight. Back when I finally had to replace the original R4 on my '84 305 (LG4), I encountered what I thought were some anomalies. The original R4 compressors were later called 'R4 Heavy' when the newer, light weight clutch was in...

    Unable to find these relays

I believe they were also used to control the EFE heater (heated grid under carb) on 250L6 and Buick V6s w/o FI.

    Unable to find these relays

That is some 80s variant of a GM Throttle Kicker / Fast Idle relay. They could actuate the fast idle from more than one input (ECM and HVAC control head). There are some variations in them (more than I know). I am skeptical that would be the root of your problem, unless it was someone (like me)...

Worn out lock actuators/solenoids can jam too.

    locked in

Since the hood can't be readily opened from only the outside, like my Squarebody, here is my parallel wired unlock (only) switch in the back of the truck. Hopefully, it would override enough to get the car opened. Haven't needed it in almost 10 years though.

    locked in

Typically in GM speak, it is the turn signals/flasher/seat belt buzzer and fuse area.

Switch is most likely, I just had the chance to grab all when I fixed mine. My car had a lot of switch use (and miles), so it made sense.

    locked in

Being I was not far from back surgery when my incident happened, I had pulled the fuse in my car too. I wasn't in any condition to go rooting around looking for the relay in the right front kick panel, besides being so shocked the system could malfunction this way.

    locked in

If the lock function of a switch sticks, or the relay itself, these are the symptoms you will get. These old style GM lock motors/solenoids are so powerful, you cannot turn the lock cylinder or overcome the lock button, you will only pull the linkage apart. I warned family members to try the...
