    Water Temp Sensor

in my opinion the head will give faster more accurate readings than the manifold. however if the manifold is the only place you place it fits it should be close enough to work.

    Which welder?

ok I meant I haven't seen it bird nest or had the spool running loose which would be the most likely cause of the wire getting wrapped under itself. I have not noticed if the wire wasn't spooled correctly from the manufacture, but next time I have a problem I will look there to.

    Which welder?

Tanks for the advice, I am defiantly a novice welder. With this welder I have replaced the ground clamp the original was sheet metal and not very reliable now it has a heavy brass clamp. Replaced the gas pressure regulator the original leaked from day 1 causing inconsistent gas flow, it now...

    Which welder?

I have a Hobart 135 110v Mig . From what I can tell Miller owns Hobart, I believe on the lower end machines they are probably the same just paying a little more for miller name. My experience is that my Hobart occasionally has wire feed issues, never really pinned down as to why but it...

    Fusible Links vs Maxi Fuse

OK when I was working on European cars I never saw a fusible link and I cant think of any modern American car that uses them, they all use fuses now to the best of my knowledge. The OE configuration on my 77 going by wiring diagrams, there are 2 fusible links between the Alt charge wire and...

    Fuel supply issue

You should be looking at the fuel pump. in warm weather the carb going dry is common. A good fuel pump should resupply the carb and start after the engine turns over a couple time.

    Tuning for altitude

Yes that's 13.4 parts air to 1 part fuel.. Theoretical ideal is 14.7:1 , Richer to a point will produce more power and leaner to a point will get better mileage.

Timing on GM GoodWrench Crate Engine?

harmonic balancers , timing covers/timing tabs interchange between motors pretty easy. In your case someone is going to have to verify TDC by the piston and then you can figure out if you have a 12 o'clock balancer and tab or a 2 o'clock balancer and tab or if the balancer has slipped or they...

    Fusible Links vs Maxi Fuse

I rewired mine using fusible links but in retrospect I wish I would have done maxi fuses. I've never been a fan of fusible links..

    Truetrac question

I was doing a preassembly on the truetrac that should be going into the truck soon. One thing i noticed is the bolt holes in the carrier are larger than the bolts. the bolt holes measure 13/32 and the bolts are 3/8. so there is 1/32 or .030 inches of slop , seams excusive for something that...

Temperature defiantly makes a difference. I got a WB wideband air fuel ratio gauge , was planning on using it to tune and then remove it. I also have an APT Adjustable part throttle this allows me to adjust the cruise mixture . What I found is if I set the cruise mixture at 14.7 : 1 in the...

check the accelerator pump, there should be zero slop in the linkage and it should squirt at soon as you move the throttle.
