    Headlamp Adjusters

I’m 99% sure this is the part number I used. Dorman Help! #42117

    Headlamp Adjusters

The inserts I used were regular “Help!” brand stuff. Knock on wood, so far so good.

    Headlamp Adjusters

When I replaced all the inserts on my 91 (quad headlight) I couldn’t find any that were good, they kept breaking during installation. I ended up using some white square inserts that seems like they were for tag screws. These inserts fit the core support perfectly and the holes were the correct...

    Radiator Brackets

You can see the unused diesel radiator mounting bracket holes in @PrairieDrifter pic. That metal top plate is for the standard width 4 row rad (I had one like that in my 80 K10, I didn’t realize it would fit 81+ core supports). This pic is of an extra wide 6.2 diesel rad I’m using in my 91...

    Radiator Brackets

I believe there’s 2 different solid plates for 73-80. 81+ used individual brackets at each mounting bushing that were available in at least 2 sizes. The biggest radiator option (standard on 6.2 diesels and available on some, if not all, BBC’s) fit the big 4 row units. Trivia; most of the 81+...

Help with pressing on rotor hub assembly

There should be part numbers on the new bearings, you can check them against the application. Also make sure there aren’t any burs / rough areas on the spindle.

Help with pressing on rotor hub assembly

You can double check the bearing part numbers on any parts store site or Rockauto, etc. Of course, you need to make sure what axle you have, 10 bolt or D44 (should be a 10 bolt). Sometimes the inner bearing can get cocked and stuck on the step on the spindle, you just have to “rinse and repeat”.

More help please on CS TO SI

I used the pigtail on my 91 Blazer but I was only using it for the CS end plug (my harness was hacked up). I was just saying that the pigtail looked like it would plug everything together perfectly. I did not use a resistor, I think I put a bulb in the circuit (I can’t remember for sure and I’m...

More help please on CS TO SI

I used the pt2145 to wire my alternator because the original wiring was cobbled up but that pigtail did look like it would be perfect for the conversion.

    B-52 alternative

Yes unless he wants the adjustability of B52 bracket (4 spring eye bolt positions + stock or 1" forward bracket mounting holes) .

    B-52 alternative

I'd call diy4x and talk to Kert directly. Diy4x is just Kert and his wife so he is the only fabricator and at times he takes things off the website when lead times are long. Off Road Design has a new front hanger but it doesn't have the multi hole set up like the B52's, I think they are more...

    Steering shaft swap questions

As far as I know, the lengths should interchange. I believe there are differences in the shape of the stub coming out of the column based on year but I'd bet the 77 vs 80 are the same. The shaft is 2 pieces slipped together but there are plastic plugs at the overlap, either drill them out or...

    Worth getting MSD?

I'm pro MSD and have a full MSD ignition (6AL, billet distributor, coil) that I have moved between 3 engines now over almost 30 years. That said, IMO, MSD is not something that you'll feel relative to the amount you'll spend. I'm very happy with my set up and it's great for keeping the plugs...

    Transfer Case Brace

It’s pretty easy, just start by bolting it to the side of the tcase. The bar will line up with the correct bellhousing bolt.

You should not need to pull the starter.

    Gear pattern and noise questions

I'm no gear setter upper guy but there doesn't seem to be enough footprint in the paint. I guess that could be not enough drag while running the pattern but I'm interested to see if anyone suggests more adjustment to make the pattern better. Since it's broke in and has some real miles on it, I...

    Transfer Case Brace

Are you talking about the stud for the bar? If so, it’s been a while but it seems like the nut was a flange type with the serrated underside that acted as a lock washer.
