14 bolt FF missing parts?!
The older 14FF have 2 spanner nuts and a keyed washer kinda like solid front axles but the tabs fold into the recess. The newer 14FF have a thicker spindle nut with that Square key. IDK when the change was made tho, in the 80's I'm reckoning. Dad's 79 has the two spanner setup. HS -
Long Bed
The factory butchered the beds to add the hump. Yes, it can be done & should be "cleaner" than the General spit them out. HS- Strick

Tire damage
Keep it on the back. I've gotten dozens of damaged Humvee tires from Ft Bragg & have been fortunate that they were no real issues when running them. Some had to be patched (booted) & ran with a tube. Small price to pay when the tires retailed for $1600 & we could get all the blems we wanted for...- Strick

What gears
Jeepers want 4.88 gears with 33's. Jeepers aren't trucks, they don't do the work of a truck & they don't hold up like a truck...unless you build them that way. They are great on the trail after built. I've usually had a 14FF out back & Dana60 up front & wheeling on 36-38 tires with 4.56 gears...- Strick

1991 c1500 rear axle to 1987 r10
The OBS 88-99 trucks have a wider stance than Squares. The spring & shock perches will need to be relocated. HS- Strick

85dually
Hello & welcome from Central NC. You can replace the Detroit with a 454 for certain. You will need another torque converter (if auto) & the proper brackets for the P/S pump as your dually has hydroboost brakes. There will be other "smalls" that you encounter but it's not a terrible swap. HS- Strick

SM465 locking between gears
IF the floor unbolts from that truck it will make repairs much easier. You can gain access to remove the top plate with shift rail while still in the truck. You can also start by pulling the shifter & inspecting both sides of the flange on it. I'd also pull the fill plug to check the fluid. You...- Strick

Installing locking hubs
After removing the old hubs would be a great time to check the spanner nut torque. The hub should not interfere with those at all though. You didn't state what you were replacing hubs on. 8' bed question
If all the ice wasn't covering everything then I'd check the pattern. Seems the front four bolts differ 73-80 & 81-91. Tailgate latches & pocket hardware differ too. They will work with some tweaking though. HS- Strick

I've seen the "9" foot beds on the 72 and previous trucks but not on the Square trucks. It must be custom or be a C&C truck. The beds should interchange because neither truck configuration offered 6.5 beds. How about measuring again & provide some photos. HS- Strick

Suburban frame interchange
Seems that the bore for the body mount bushings are different 73-80 & 81-91. I had some Energy Suspension bushings (30 years ago) from an 81 up & they were too large to fit the mount on my 76. HS- Strick
