    Looking At A 2005 Z71 4x4

Don't know what the asking price is, but that's a fair amount of damage/rust. It had better be cheap.

    Hi - from Upstate, SC

Welcome! My leak was behind the controls. There's a rubber "manifold" that internally fell apart and wouldn't align the doors properly. Was a right pain to track one down for replacement.

    LMC Dash Pad Supplier

I bought one from LMC last winter. It was dashes direct supplied and might have a similar corner issue. I just test fitted it before everything got shelved so I can't say for sure.

New daily project 2005 Silverado 2wd CCSSB

I repaired the rear defrost by plugging it back in on both sides. Detailer must have pulled them off? I threw in a set of weather tech mats all around and swapped the stereo. Luckily the converter box was already installed by the PO, though the chime is busted and waiting for me to swap it out...

New daily project 2005 Silverado 2wd CCSSB

Yeah, now that its been said i can't unsee it, lol. I've been both styles of moulding I'm pretty sure. Mine is an LS with all the power options including steering controls, manual dual zone climate, but no bose, leather or center console. To be honest I only realized about the electric fans...

Well I never noticed, but can't unsee it now that you said something. I assume original, but you are right that they look different compared to Huck's Z71. Either way they're probably coming off. I want to wrap it to look like the '84 eventually.

Next was a full maintenance and inspection. Front end needed a new tie rod on the passenger side, but the feller had put all new brakes on it for me! How nice of him. So, new tie rod and alignment and the suspension was now sorted. Oil change to inspect for sparkle particles and general...

New daily project 2005 Silverado 2wd CCSSB

Luckily this rig had a spotless interior. I can attribute that to papaw and the obvious deep clean it had. This thing smelled straight from the detailers and a little musty too. It was labeled bio hazard at the auction, but the pics showed clothes and food only, no bodily fluids, maybe a touch...

Well, it has been a minute! So much happening with marriage, potential house purchase and move, etc. I've been completely off grid. This is my penance I reckon lol. After the wedding in June and in preparation for the move to SC, I sold my 2002 Silverado Extra Cab 4wd. It had the 4.8 and 318k...

Are OE lug studs long enough? 77 C10

@Grit dog They are not. Had to get tires for the Pilot on the Discount Card a few weeks ago and just paid it off. I'll probably wait until I get to SC anyway. We just got married this weekend and are trying to pay it off before we buy a house. Luckily, I think we spent less than $5k on the soirée.

Nice choice! I went polished lip square setup - 20 x 8.5 with 4.5 backspacing. Looks like you did similar?

    Truck Size

I'm a fan of the 99-07 interiors and think they are probably the height of GM comfort. New trucks all have super thin seats compared to the previous generations. My '05 CCSB is super comfy/spacious. It has just enough of the creature comforts without all the extra complications of some newer...

Assuming your plastics are good it's a teardown, clean, dye, reassemble process. My webbing was good so it was cleaned and dyed. Mechanical parts were cleaned and lubed. Plastics cleaned and dyed. Polished buckles and NOS buttons. She did have to trim one one the seat buckle covers to clean it...

Fit and finish is not at all the same on new. If you want the factory look you have to restore.
