I'm in need of help identifying Universal Joints.

Had my little SR5 driveshaft redone years ago when having the original clutch replaced at around 190k. In my mind, I wanted it super strong to last, so went with Rockcrawlers super heavy duty u-joints instead of Toyota OEM. What I did not know to check, was specs, the heavy duty joints were...

    Am I crazy?

2 cents, Crazy is speculative. I spoke to a few owners a while back doing similar trades, and another went new, they wished they would have kept the 07', fix what it needs and keep rollin'. The one lady with an 07' said it hauled her big trailer through the mountains better, less problems...

Heavier Duty Coils on 2wd. Any issues?

Many years ago, I had MOOG #6452 springs installed, Monroe Magnums, went with Urethane bushings in the front end rebuild, Eaton Detroit TruTrac with 3:73's in the rear axle installed by Robert Thomas in Hesperia CA, a set of Firestone Destination AT 225/70/15 to roll on. With the new springs, it...

    Rear sliding glass

My dad used a key box, taped it up under the body on top of frame etc. I would only put a door key to open a door if keys locked in, so less possible issues, one might even hide an ign. key under some carpet or underneath a seat etc. Since spine problems, and laziness, I just tape a door key...

    cam wear

Looks good and maybe halfway done or so, for your piece of mind, toss in some Marvel mystery oil for the top end, you are already on the exhaust gasket, how did that turn out? If the ticking continues or any worries pop up, feel free to stop by, I have an old can of STP sitting by the front door...

Old Boy Scout ... selling 5 acres n cabin.

That is the best question I have heard!!! :happy175: Since he is about 13-14 years old, kinda hard for him to get up and going since lower spine is weak, hasn't been groomed in a few years, "I Want" to get him a spa day, nails trimmed, massage, and a couple cataracts removed, oh, and he is deaf...

Can't find new rear hubs for '74

Step 1) Verify problem, remove drums, put an indicator on hubs and turn them to check if they have run out or are bent etc. You mention squeaky brakes, has it been since you purchased the truck or did it start later? Since there is 90% left, seems likely someone has changed shoes previously...

Ball Joints/Tie Rod Ends What Brand????

Hi guys, Thinking about this and had an exstrainious'* weird odd goofy nerd thought for a test, and only a test, buy the absolute cheapest for one side, then the best Moog for the other side (most likely drivers side ;), give the same 2-3 hand grease pumps of Slick50 grease in each fitting which...

    Picking up a 5.3 and 4l80e for the 85 c10

Biggin, cool stuff your thinking to do there. Food for thought, rookie? more apt name for an oil and filter change only guy, You rewired the truck? bump yourself up for that. Some folks might check a dipstick, look under the oil cap etc. and be fine with that level of inspection. If someone was...
