    Blown Shocks?

i was just making sure i wasnt coming off that way haha. but not that you arent experienced either. ive just driven without shocks and saw what it was like, heck lets just say were sayin the same thing with different words!

    Blown Shocks?

to say that a high spring rate causes said spring to not oscillate is simply not true. if you want to get into the physics the equation for a simple harmonic oscillator (spring) is frequency= .5pi*sqrt(k/mass) where k is the spring constant. this equation shows that a stiffer spring will...

    Blown Shocks?

right right, i was just giving my 2 cents on why i do not believe shocks were your problem. its really stiff springs. please do not increase your dampening to match your spring rate, you will hate yourself if you do. my vote is to get softer springs. either softer springs or even get a milder...

    Blown Shocks?

shocks only exert force while moving. they do nothing when the truck is sitting. that sagging is due to the springs. nitro pressure shocks do exert a little force say 50 to 100 pounds constantly, but thats not enough to significantly change sagging or not.

    Blown Shocks?

Well what do you mean by bouncy? Because a spring undampened (without a shock) by definition will oscillate for an extended period of time. That sounds like bouncy to me. A shock acts to control that harmonic motion so that when we hit a bump we still aren't moving up and down forever. When I...

    Blown Shocks?

bad shocks or no shocks at all will NOT make the ride stiffer. if anything itll be softer but less controlled and bouncy. as the others have said the stiff ride comes from the springs.

Lift and tire size on a daily driver...

really? i barely rub if at all with 33's and a 2 inch lift. has more to do with my bumpstops tho cuz i DEFINITELY have bottomed out many times. I may be alone on this but 33's and a 2 inch lift are my vote. I think it looks the most proportional. Even more so than stock.

    Dead 700R4 - Now what?

4l80 for 150. if these are tough enough and an easy swap id say no brainer. http://asheville.craigslist.org/pts/3410265324.html maybe i will put in a 350 someday... thought my best option was th400.

    Dead 700R4 - Now what?

how about a craigslist 700r4? ive seen em for like 200-400. If you want it tougher then the 4l80 makes sense. just curious how do the 4l80 and the th400 fare against eachother?

Blinkers/Hazzards stop working when headlights turned on...

sorry i am outta town till sunday, i'll get a video then. it works perfectly but once i did the final swap for leds in the parklights the leds didnt draw enough current to activate the sidemarker relays or the flasher unit. i played around with some resitors to wire with the parklights, to...

Blinkers/Hazzards stop working when headlights turned on...

 basically the wires that used to power the light now just act as a signal for the relay to turn the sidemarker on

oh yea!!! got the leds in the sidemarkers to work EXACTLY as if from the factory. turns out using relays was the best option. i made up a diagram to show how. :big_banana_Dance:
