    front shocks/ lift

as you guys probably know i have done the 2 inch lift and need new shocks. my truck has the quad front shocks and if im not mistaken the second shock is the same length as the rear ones. so could i put those shocks in place of the regular front ones for now? i have looked into the shock lengths...

    Whoops! (4x4 on dry pavement)

if the 203 is a true open differential just like the front and rear axles are then all 4 wheels will get power. but when you lose grip itll spin the axel with the tire that has the least grip. when nothing is spinning it gives equal torque to both axels. actually it ALWAYS gives equal torque...

my new sound system (still in progress)

i am extremely pleased with the sound quality. the only thing id like is deeper bass (not much i can do there in a single cab truck) and better left to right balance. i hear mostly the left speakers as none of the speakers are facing the opposite side of the truck. when i get around to it im...

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

the only thing is a locker in the rear would affect on road performance, unless i get a selectable locker. what kind of selectable locker would be the cheapest?

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

if i do get a k5 then should i just stick with the lift/ tires and leave it be? would it be worth the extra coin to make my truck better off road? or will the 33 mud tires give me enough respectable off road ability for now.

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

i have found several in running condition for about a grand. but would it be worth it to drop a grand or 1500 for a decent k5? or should i just upgrade my truck even if it is a longbed? the only thing is i dont want to mess it up off road or mod it too much cuz its low mileage and is all...

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

ok ill wait on the spool or locker and do the manual hubs first, along with the steering bracket.... but this all is money money money. ha i want to get a cheap k5 later this year anyway since ill be getting a job and i could use that for more serious off road use... so im not sure how much i...

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

ok so its 200 for the manual hubs with the spool, or 300 for the lunchbox.... decision time haha but i have some time to think it over

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

well how hard would it be to change to manual hubs, and how much would it cost? im wanting to do the most cost effective way. but the lunchbox is sounding better now... with the lunchbox sholuld i still do the steering box brace?

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

with the auto locking hubs they are disconected at the hub just like a regular manual hub. if you dont believe me put a squarebody with the autolocking hubs on a lift and spin one wheel and nothing happens at all to the other wheel or the driveline. they are free spinning and the front driveline...

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

heres the thing though, i will NEVER be in 4wd on pavement... but theres a ton of mud around here... just want cheap grip and id have to shell out atleast 200 more bucks... i do understand what you are saying but as ive said before wouldnt the lunchbox behave the same when im on the gas anyway...

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

well i was meaning the difference with racing in the mud and the trail. but also i dont have manual hubs so it wont make a difference there. but the lunchbox costs like 300 and the spool for about 100. that is considerably cheaper and the only time the locker wouldnt be engaged would be while...

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

I have also read that a spool isnt good for mud pit runs because of the steering but is good for the trail

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

Well I don't plan on driving on road in 4wd... So that wont be a problem, this is for my front diff. But my understanding of a lunchbox locker is that it engages when power is applied. So the lunchbox would act the same as a spool as long as you're not coasting. Now when it comes to power I...

    Mini spool vs lunchbox locker

Got the lift done and new tires are comin. Now I'm looking to get even more traction up front. Have been looking into a mini spool or a lunchbox locker, any thoughts? And which are easier to install?

my new sound system (still in progress)

I wrote in the original post I have to move it up one notch. I could put it back all the way but that might damage the subs. I still have plenty of room

What brand of stereo equipment do you like best?

I honestly would stay away from boss equipment. I have read a ton about quality Issues with them. They are cheap for a reason. I will be honest I have a boss head unit and have not had any major issues with it but it looks cheap and I wouldn't expect it to last a long time. I am going to replace...

    done the add a leaf!

i think its great. 160 bucks. and driving it feels more controlled without making any noticeable difference in ride quality

    done the add a leaf!

then it looks like its time to shell over some money for new shocks....

    done the add a leaf!

sometimes i think it looks even and sometimes it looks a little off but i think im going to leave it because it is so close to level. my mind could be playing tricks on me though because i had the rear on without the front for a few days so maybe i was getting used to it with the back higher...

    done the add a leaf!

finished the add a leaf suspension today, and i like the mild lift it gave. 2 things to note. the centering bolts included SUCK. they stripped before i even tightened them to the recommended 32 ft lbs. so i had to use some different bolts, went with grade 8 bolts  and also with the 2 inch...

    headers?

i see your truck is a c10 but the kit and headers say for 4wd only so would it even matter for me?
  23. guitarfreak235

    headers?

it is the superstreet dual exhaust kit for headers and i will use the raptor mufflers because they are cheap and have a straight through design
  24. guitarfreak235

    headers?

well the reason i was looking at these headers in the first place is because i am planning on getting an exhaust system from flowtech and you can the header version of the kit and it fits these headers. would the kit fit the ebay headers too? and rust really is not a problem anyway around here...
