Rear Main Seal Replacement
I guess not. This is his 29th year teaching. So who knows what he missed by not working at a actual shop for those 29 years of teaching. A few student did it on a blazer and he had to actually use the J tool for the rear main seal.- davbell22602

Alternator Voltage Spec/ Battery Question
Were starting into electricity, starters, alternators, etc. at school. He's teaching us that the alternator spec should be between 13.8-14.8 but dont exceed 15.2 volts. With a 38-140 amps. That anything not in that range should be replaced Is that correct? I thought GM's alternator volt...- davbell22602

Rear Main Seal Replacement
Thanks to everyone for helping. I could have done the rear seal without that worthless tool after all. I could used a soft mallet type hammer and a extension and tapped it in gently going the crank flange. The teacher didnt do it cause he didnt know what were getting into not having that tool.- davbell22602

I had too many bad experiences with AZ, advance auto parts, and pepboys. I still to napa, carquest, and ac delco parts. I still go to AZ if something like felpro gasket.- davbell22602
