The mysterious tool is actually a flywheel turning tool that allows you to turn the bastard to get at all three bolts to release the converter from the flywheel. I used the Jegs house brand headers on my crate motor and I got the Dead soft gaskets that come in three pieces per side which helped immensely with the install. Those headers are a great deal at that price! Just do yourself a favor and sand them down and re-paint with Ceramic exhaust paint before you install them. Otherwise its rusty header city in about three months!- 85k10383

Single best thing about the conversion is that you can try different bulbs if you want to. You have the option of going HID if you so choose. With the original sealed beams you are pretty much S.O.L. if they are crappy. I will try the H4s and see if they do the trick, maybe even try some high... -

I had that same thought! It wiould seem that LMC is simply reselling the same item as those folks. Or, more likely selling a cheaper knock-off sourced from Southeast Asia as an awful lot of their stuff seems to be. E-bay is almost ten bucks cheaper than LMC to boot, which adds up to about $45... -

Reason I seem so stuck on the LMCs is that I got a big ol gift certificate for them for Christmas from the family. So its either all new headlights, or get the wood rim retro style wheel I keep thinking about. And frankly, I'd rather be able to see better, my night vision sucks badly LOL -

I thought about trying the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs but they are actually about the same price for a full set as the LMC cartridge conversion units. And by conversion unit I mean that you keep the square headlight body and lense but the bulb is a modern H1 or H4 halogen capsule that goes in... -
