    Engine threaded bosses

The factory spot is behind the intake next to distributor. I pretty sure it’s a 1/8” pipe thread.

    Engine threaded bosses

Yes the rear is that deep. It’s actually behind the engine.

Make sure you get a pass side dipstick tube. The left hand ones are different length and dia. FYI, Here is a pic of the heat shields I was talking about.

    Engine threaded bosses

The small threaded hole is left over from the older ram horn style exhaust manifold set-up, it’s where the spark plug heat shields bolted on.

    Engine threaded bosses

No o-ring that I have ever seen, I usually just put a little RTV around the dipstick tube where it bottoms out in the block and never had any problems.

    Lowered questions

Looks stock, someone may have removed a leaf to lower it a little, but looking at the condition of the threads on the u-bolts and shackles it doesn’t look like it’s been messed with.

    CPP Lowered Spindles

Truck looks great, I'm glad everything worked out. I know it can be a pain to get everything to work together sometimes, but it sure makes it worth it in the end. Post a pic of the slosh tubz.

Pics of a factory 12 o’clock timing tab. It’s on a stand, cleaned and painted so it’s easier to see.

    Dumping Pickup Bed

Yes, My grandfather bought it new in '76, and it's one of the trucks I learned to drive in. No one else in the family ever cared for it so he gave it to me a few years before he passed. It was his work/farm truck and he never really took care of it that much. By the time I got it it was in...

    1979 350 carb into r10 tbi 305 truck

The 87 TBI should have centerbolt valve covers, they weren't vortex heads but have that style valve cover. So yes the TBI intake center holes will be on the wrong angle. Also that will be a 1 piece rear main seal engine, so the flex plate will not swap to the '79 350, external balanced vs...

Welded a bracket to the frame and run it toward the rear tire. You can still get to it with the bed down.

    Dumping Pickup Bed

Yes it was a kit, He told me that he got a big break on the price of the kit if he bought 3 kits. I remember him telling me that he went to Atlanta to pick them up and a couple of his buddies wanted one also. I just barely remember 3 trucks with their beds off in his yard one weekend putting...

    Dumping Pickup Bed

My grandpa put this on his truck about 1978, I was about five when he did it. I can’t tell you the times it has been used over the years. A real back saver for sure. This is after I re-bodied it due to an extreme amount of rust.

1985 Long bed to short bed. Whats really needed. Just brake lines?

Depending on what fuel tank (16 vs 20 gal) your truck has you may need a 16 gal fuel tank or 2 if it is double tanked.

    CPP Lowered Spindles

Nice looking truck. When I first got my truck years ago I had a similar issue. The p.o. had lowered the truck poorly and it rubbed every time I hit a decent size bump. I installed the CPP modular spindles when they came out. I also at the same time installed their upper and lower tubular...

    Corner/Marker Light Behavior

With the headlights off this is correct. The blinker and corner marker will blink on and off together. With the headlights on the parking light and corner marker light will be steady on, With the headlights on and the blinker on, the blinker and corner marker will blink opposite of each other...

What new tools have you got lately?

Thanks, been working at it, but still have a ways to go. It’s not really as clean as it looks. Work gets in the way lol. As bad as I hate to say it , and I know I will catch hell for it the F350 is a pretty good old shop truck. Picked it up a couple years ago from a local fire department that...
