What spark plugs do you run?

Autolite or delco. Whichever is on sale. As far as having a longer electrode, seems the longer ones would produce a tad more compression because it makes the combustion chamber smaller. Just my thinking.

    weird noise

I have a set of Flowmaster 40 series and one of them has developed a rattle. You can bump the pipe with your hand and hear it. It rattles when coming to a stop and sometimes when idling. Drives me nuts. Probably time for something else. They are about 8yrs old. Try bumping the pipe with your hand.

    Won't Charge

With a meter you can check the alternator at the back terminal and determine if it's the alternator or wiring problem.

    Carburetor help

Those 2 barrel carbs are very good carbs. There is one main concern with them though. They are prone to get loose where the carb bolts together. So while you have it off, check the screws that hold the carb together. You will see them from underneath the carb.

    installing radiator with aftermarket?

Yeah it needs to be isolated from any metal to metal contact. I've used old inner tubes and cut strips to go between them. As long as it fits pretty snug.

    Skipping when in OD

I would look at the distributor cap and rotor. These are known for moisture getting in them. Had the same issue with mine. Only did it in od.
