    AC compressor oil capacity?

When you say rotate by hand, do you do it with the clutch engaged? (12v jumped)

Just clamped it for now. But I need to figure out my ac charging problem first, and then I will be ordering the ac delco replacement style and replacing with that when I evacuate the system again.

AC Charge Problem (High Low, 0 psi High)

I was afraid it might be a bad compressor, but it is brand new from Four Seasons, and it's not a reman unit, so I am skeptical on that, but it could be possible I guess. Any other way to test the compressor is working properly? If left alone, the low and high sides do not equalize, does that...

AC Charge Problem (High Low, 0 psi High)

Really stumped here, looking for some tips and advice on getting my ac working. Here's what I've done: - new compressor - new evaporator + orifice tube - new condenser - new accumulator - new r134a adapters - lines flushed with ac flush - new o-rings all around - rear evaporator flushed...

Burb Rear AC TXV bulb mount

What am I supposed to do with the expansion valve for the rear ac? I have a new one, but it is a bit different than the original. How does the coil mount to the line? Do I just clamp it to the side of it, or is it supposed to coil around the line? The original looks like this: And...

Problem with installing new manual hubs

I agree with bucket, you should not be banging the locking hubs into the hub/rotor assembly, they should slide in to the wheel hub and then the dial cap screws on top. You can pull the axle stub shaft or push from behind the backing plate to get clearance to put the snap ring on to the stub...

    What body color paint?

Thanks, that brochure was very helpful! My glove box RPO codes: 72U ZY1 So it looks like it was repainted at some point to be a two tone? Since I don't have the ZY5 two-tone RPO code... But I guess I have Apple Red or Standard Red as the "red" color, right? Not metallic med garnet red? That...

    What body color paint?

Does anyone know what paint color this is? (The white/tan/beige color in the middle.) I looked up my RPO codes and it listed the red, which is called Medium Garnet Ret Metallic, but it didn't say what the other color was.

Transfer Case Crossmembers & Skid Plates

Thanks for the info HotRodPC!! This is very helpful, now I feel comfortable next time I'm at the yard to find the skidplate I need. I have the wavey, not the W, and I've got an idea now from the picture what to look for in the skid plate, from post 25.

Transfer Case Crossmembers & Skid Plates

I did not know there were 3 different skid plates... well I guess I'll have to keep looking and trying. Do you happen to know if the transmission crossmembers are specific to a transmission type? That might help me rule out a skid plate that's paired to a type of transmission.

    Replacement Grille (85-88)

It's not terrible, but the mounting points are cracked, it's missing pieces, and rattles around. I already tried gluing it with a 2-part epoxy for plastics - that worked for about 6 months, but after some bouncing around on some back roads it cracked again. Well I purchased the non-emblem...

    Replacement Grille (85-88)

Thanks for the info, that's what I thought. I'll see if I can glue my old bowtie on a new grille. Just curious, what are the 6 catalogs for squarebody trucks? I can think of 3: LMC truck Classic Industries Stylin' Trucks

    Replacement Grille (85-88)

Anybody find a reproduction grille for the single headlight version from 85-88? I'm talking about this one: I checked LMC truck and they don't make it, well not this one exactly, they make one without the bowtie emblem: I can't find one that has the provision for the bowtie...

    Square on the Interstate

Not speed, but rpm is what the real question is here. Someone posts, "I can do 80 all day no problem!" - Sure that's fine, but you need to look at your own vehicle and see if that's reasonable for you. With an overdrive trans, larger tires, and say 3.73 gears, that should be fine, but if you...

Bad hubs or transfer case? How to tell.

I did notice the hubs were different kinds though, one had torx screws holding it in, and the other had allen heads. One was a black dial, one had a faded pink dial. Also discovered that brake pads were wearing unevenly, I think it was because shop that screwed me over last time with their...

Bad hubs or transfer case? How to tell.

Tore into the hubs/spindles and I'm not sure why I was afraid of it, not that big of a deal. I replaced the hubs with Warn Premiums and the 4wd is working like a champ now! So the problem was one of the hubs after all. The transfer case, diff, front driveshaft is all good too. I also drained...

Transfer Case Crossmembers & Skid Plates

My apologies, I should have mentioned this, but I just put an extra bolt that I had in that hole - it doesn't do anything, just a drain hole. It mounts just like skysurfer posted, the 4 bolts and nuts that mount to the crossmember.
