    Sway bar end link bushings

    Sway bar end link bushings

Sorry! I spoke too soon, it looks like you do need a special press to install these. After reading some more reviews about people trying to install the OEM type bushings, I will be returning these AC Delco ones and getting the energy suspension polyurethane 2-piece ones:

    Sway bar end link bushings

Looks like these will be a tight fit, do these have to be pressed in with a hydraulic press or something?

    Suburban Barn Door Seals

I see you got yours from LMC truck, and it looks like there are a few others out there... (but I'm not sure if they are made by the same manufacturer, just rebranded) Anybody have a set that fits properly? Some others I found 1Aauto...

    Evaporator housing "gunk" + leak

By black silicone sealant, do you mean the black RTV gasket stuff?

    Suburban Barn Door Seals

Why is it so tight of a fit with the new seals? Is it because the weatherstripping is so new and needs to be broken-in? Or are they just poorly made seals? I don't see why you should have to be making these extreme adjustments from the factory-set gaps...

    Slamming hood?

How hard do you have to close the hood for it to lock? I feel like I need to really slam down the hood for it to latch properly, are there any adjustments I can make, or is anything wearing down?

    Evaporator housing "gunk" + leak

Working on getting my ac up and running, and I see this black stuff oozing out of the black enclosure for the evaporator: Is this an oil leak from the ac lines? Or is this a sealant of some sort? When I have the blower going (heat or AC) I can feel leakage of air coming out. Any tips on...

    Broken Fuel Module?

One more thought: Even if the module is faulty, I don't think it should be causing extended crank times, right? Engine should be able to start right up normally with 2 seconds of fuel pump prime, the extra 20 seconds that is applied to heavy duty models above 8600 GVWR is just for hot...

    Broken Fuel Module?

Update: I tested wires. - black/white = ground: all good. - tan/white = continuity to fuel pump (via relay): all good. - pink/black power = only got 1.5 V (does it need the full 12V?)

    Broken Fuel Module?

1,500 lb. 87 V20 Suburban, so I have the heavy duty fuel module that keeps the fuel pump running for 20 seconds instead of 2 by overriding the ecu/m. I noticed today that my fuel pump only stayed on for 2 seconds, and I had a longer, more difficult cranking time (~3-4 seconds to start up). Any...

Suburban stock spare tire location tire size

What's the largest tire that can fit inside the stock spare tire location in the rear driver's side cargo area? I am looking for a spare tire to match my current tires (285/75/16) and wondering if this size will fit there in the back using the stock screw and hold-down clamp thing. Related...

1/4" or 1/8" Thread for Oil Pressure Sending Unit?

Wow, can't believe I've never heard of that tool, looks a like real game changer! Will swing by HF this weekend and see if I can pick one up. I was considering even removing my slave cylinder to get more room, but if the sender's not in too tight, then this tool should do it.

    which rear will bolt up

I read that the "pinion snout" on the 14BFF is longer than the 14B sf, so I would have to get the right driveshaft too... I think I'm going to stick with the SF 9.5", I don't off road that hard anyways, just some light towing of a pop up camper. So any 9.5" will mount right up? Shock mounts too...

AC compressor does line up; new compressor

Ok! Standard R4 with 12 o'clock it is! I'll be doing the radiator soon, and while I have access, I'll remove those washers and see if I can get it to line up properly. Can anything else go wrong that would cause a misalignment like that? I don't think the brackets are bent, but maybe somebody...

    which rear will bolt up

Question was never answered here: what is the axle swap compatibility? I need a new rear end, I have the 9.5" 14 bolt, but going to rebuild so might as well find a FF14 bolt. Which axles swap right over without relocating perches? I have an 87 3/4 ton suburban, I'm fine with the 3/4 ton drum...

AC compressor does line up; new compressor

Trying to resurrect my AC system here. I have an 87 suburban with rear ac. The current system has been retrofitted to 134A, but does not currently work. The compressor pulley does not line up (see pics below) Is something bent? Is the wrong compressor in there? I noticed some washers/shims, are...

I need help.... 1984 Chevy silver ado

Hey Littleherc, I am curious if you were successful in swapping out the sender? I am trying the same thing, but can't get my hand in a good spot to unscrew the old one... Let me know if you have any tricks for doing this.

1/4" or 1/8" Thread for Oil Pressure Sending Unit?

Well, I tried but I can't get the old sender out from above the oil filter, there's just not enough room to get a wrench in there. Even if I removed the exhaust manifold, I don't think I'd have clearance. Has anybody done this before? Is it even possible with the engine in? I will try now to...

    HVAC controls lighting

My control thing just has one light on the right side. Are there supposed to be 2, or just one light for the whole face of the controls? See below:
