87 R10 Cuts off at stop lights

18-20 un regulated, 9-13 regulated at TBI. O2 is the only one ignored until closed loop. Quick way to check for a bad in tank hose, Is to hook up a pressure gauge at the filter. Lst guy that did it, only got a reading of 8 Psi, and when he dropped the tank, there was a pinky sized hole in the hose,

87 R10 Cuts off at stop lights

Its already programed to close all the way when the throttle is closed for a certain amount of time, at slow decelleration.

87 R10 Cuts off at stop lights

Thats where the VSS and IAC work together the most. As the vehicles speed reduces, the IAC stays open a little more so the engine doesn't stall. Then after stopped, Idle settles to normal after a few seconds.

87 R10 Cuts off at stop lights

Remember when carbs had the vac operated throttle kicker to keep the throttle from slamming shut and stalling? This is similar.

87 R10 Cuts off at stop lights

Would be big time loss of driveability. Only stalling on stops.

    Stalling when stopping..

Thats about it really. Unless you have a tach. Does it sputter off, or does it seem like when someone doesn't put their foot on the clutch in a stick at a stop? Doesnt have to be 50, supposed to lockup at about 38.

    Stalling when stopping..

Sounds like a VSS issue(vehicle speed sensor) and / or a very dirty/ lazy IAC ( idle air control) valve. Retro could be right to, but to check, go out and drive at 50 mph, and while listening to the engine, tap the brake just enough( keep your foot on the gas) to activate the brake lights, and...

    I am screwed!

If it was a dizzy meant for roller cam, it may have chewed the drive teeth on the cam.

    Is silvy giving you problems?

Nope. if you are running mid or long tubes, I consider a 3 wire heated O2 sensor a must.

87 1500 Not Getting Power to TBI Injectors

Those wires go to the ECM B fuse, he has an electrician typ dude that is going to see if there is a break in the wire(s) somewhere. maybe a bad connection at the firewall plug cavity.

    Rotten Egg Smell From Exhaust

Yup, and a good way to check thte pattern, is to hook up antiming light to the coil wire, and point the light at the injectors. No No on the heavier regulator spring, either replace, or have the injectors sonically cleaned.

    Rotten Egg Smell From Exhaust

Do a compression check, look at the plugs. Maybe got some high sulfer gas too...dunnonhow that would happen in Cali though. Usually happens when you floor it.

    Low throttle bog

You can test the egr the same way you tested the vac advance. You should check the thermal vac switch that operates it as well. Should be closed when the truck is cold. You can also pull the vac line from the egr, and plug it with a golf tee or a pencil, then go drive it, and see what...

    hp freed up
