halfway decent price on a squarebody

Yeah, Arizona sun eats interiors but keeps metal mostly dry.

halfway decent price on a squarebody

Agreed. But, complete, AC, auto, tilt, 1/2 ton 4x4, looks rust free. Yeah. He'll, paint might even buff out ok for a while? I think it's a bargain.

halfway decent price on a squarebody

Found this ad posted a couple hours ago in Phoenix AZ Craigslist ad. Looks to be a standard (mostly if not all) rust free squarebody for a decent asking price. If I didn't already have more than I can ever build I would buy it...

    Lowering a 4x4??? I don't get it!!!

Well I also agree to the lowering a 4X4 question O.P. asked. I don't get it either. But, I like em both. I have both (multiples of some). I have a real nice K20 81 4 X 4. All stock. Just my old ranch truck I keep up in the mountains at my cabin property. Building a 78 C10 slammed on the ground...

    Carbs at local auction

Kinda like going to a yard sale and buying something you don't really need, just cause you thought it was a good deal. Don't get me wrong I do it too, which is why I avoid them. I always ask myself "can I sell this tomorrow"? Answer, no. Eventually, maybe. But hey, it was only $50. Buy High...

    Willow, Alaska

Welcome to the club. Glad to have you and your fine looking truck as a part of our group. I am in the greater Phoenix AZ area, so tons of square and parts galore down here. There are folks who come down every year for winter too, so maybe one will bring you goodies back someday. Anyhow, Welcome...

Another "how much can I drop" question...

Just look at it as "for now". Don't mean you might not change it up later. At least it's on the road.

Another "how much can I drop" question...

Kinda gonna have to decide which you want more. "a lowered truck or a truck with cool side pipes". JMO. Not trying to be a jerk. Like the old saying "you want it good, fast, or cheap"? Pick two.

How to remove heater core from heater box

I agree with HotRodPC. a manufacturer made the core, another made the plastic housing and probably did the assembly on an assembly line, "with screws". They would not have "welded" this part together around the copper core. I have not done a replacement on a square yet, but have on other years...

Thanks. I agree. Hard not to jump in the middle of it, but with two projects unfinished it will have to wait it's turn.

Blazer or Suburban tank for relocation?

I could and might. Probable a 25 gal. is enough for me. I would like to save that space above for my compressor and air tanks if I can. Thanks to all who responded.

Blazer or Suburban tank for relocation?

Just thought I would ask the question of what works between the rear framerails on my 79 C10? I keep hearing blazer, but I actually have a suburban stashed on my property in the mountains (if I ever get up there). I am not against buying a new tank, but would hate to if the one in my 86 suburban...

    LS motor coolant line routing

I can take a pic of the ls in my El Camino eater lines if you want?

    LS motor coolant line routing

True, but you do have a steam line coming off the drivers side head @ the front of the engine that has to go somewhere. Factory sent it to the radiator, most guys put it into the top of the water pump.

    New to me 71 GMC

Well, I will not bore you with all of the details but last Thursday a "new to me" 71GMC long bed 3/4 ton pickup came my way. I was asked "will you buy it for X number of dollars?", so I said "well let me take a look at this great running/driving truck. I walked over to it, popped the hood and...
