    Carb or tbi

Yeah, as Jrgunn stated, jump A & B terminals. Looking at it, with the tab split on the top... A & B are the top right two terminals.

Resolved cooling issue-UPDATE post 8-better but not perfect

I think the 180F T-stat is the sweet spot on most GMs. 160F too low... 195F Too high for my liking, at least in the summer. 180F is good all year round.

    What can cause a backfire?

Good find on the carb spacer leak! This thing should be running like a champ soon enough!

87 R10 TBI injectors will not spray

Just be sure to get the same size engine or bigger TBI injector... they differ in sizes (output) & obviously you don't want less output or spray than you had originally

87 R10 TBI injectors will not spray

Wow!! Excellent job! It takes so much patience sometimes to tackle diagnosis... I find it tougher with our own vehicles than a customer's or friend's one. So that one injector not firing? You think it's the injector itself? In my whole time working on TBIs, I've never had them fail... but...

87 R10 TBI injectors will not spray

I know you have use of an OBD1 scanner, but have you tried checking for codes via the selftest method with just jumping the 2 A&B points? See if you at least get the code12? Another thing, do you have access to the wiring schematics? Since the injectors are a ground side switch activated...

    Brake Lights and Turn signals

Yeah, that's because the little spring clip breaks in the turn signal switch. OR the cam wears... I was having that issue for the longest time, just too lazy to replace the spring. If that's the case, it's much easier to undo the top of the column to the switch, then just replace the return...

    Weird hesitation issue

TV cable will only affect driveability & shifting... nothing at idle. The fuel gauge can be done but maybe a PITA due to needing to be inline on a TBI (carb too, come to think of it...I'm too used to newer vehicles with schrader valves). Here's a pic of my setup... but on yours, I'd add...

    Brake Lights and Turn signals

Hey Mike, when describing the tails lights be sure to use the term parking lights or brakes lights. Parking lights come on when you have the headlights on, brake lights only come on with hazzards, turn signal, or brake pedal. I sometimes find it confusing just using the term tail lights. .. I...

Lol...yeah, im konking out now... just didn't want to pass out too early & fk up my schedule. I also thought we would be able to figure this out. Enjoy your dinner! :)

    Brake Lights and Turn signals

Ok... that's an odd kill switch. Eventually we can figure out where it goes into. I suppose we can focus on what you came here for 1st, which is the lights issue, right? Cuz otherwise, the truck does start up &run, correct? You may want to go over my last post cuz I edited it a ton. I...

    Brake Lights and Turn signals

Ok, from what I'm seeing, there's only 2 main red wires that go into that fuse box. 1 that feeds the Hazards and the other that feeds the Ign & ECM fuses. ohhhhh...wait... just saw your pic. Those red wires aren't the original ones. What color is the other end that they connect to? Im...

    Brake Lights and Turn signals

In fact you can download your own schematics & service manual. These may help you too. Here's the link. . http://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/1973-1991-service-manuals.14499/#post-293629

    Brake Lights and Turn signals

For shits & giggles... did you verify all the fuses being good in the fuse block?

    Brake Lights and Turn signals

Hmmm....sounds like a main ignition switch feed then. I'll have to look up schematics. .. in the meantime, we have an electrical "savant" in the house.... @Honky Kong jr :) Let him chime in

    Brake Lights and Turn signals

Yeah. .. OK. . The wire was a purple one? Or yellow?

    Brake Lights and Turn signals

Ohhhh.... ok. Well.... the kill switch probably just cut a circuit out. All else should be fused by the fuse block anyway. How intricate was the kill switch? Was it just an actual switch, like a toggle... or was it a module type?

    2010 Camaro SS starter wiring

Oh...lol sorry. The big red circle... is to positive cable on battery. Always Hot. I edited my last post to hopefully understand better. Oh, & I'm a girl OEM connector? You mean the purple circle? That's the "signal" wire. To the ignition switch. Usually they're a purple wire on GMs

    2010 Camaro SS starter wiring

Be sure to ground the engine block with a main cable to battery I hope it's legible. Red is for the main cable to battery... at least 1 of the main positive cables. Purple is the "signal" wire you mention... in this case the switch wire. This is all you connect to the starter itself.

    SM465 Fluid Capacity????

I think it's 4 quarts or slightly over. Definitely less than 5, but I think less than 4.5 too. It's a little PITA to do on these too... at least refilling.

    Parking Brake Switch Problems

The ratchet mechanism depresses a switch and grounds it. It's in the driver footwell under the steeringcolumn. 1.The switch may be bent a little to where it's still making contact. 2. The parking cable or the return springs (at the ratchet mechanism or at the drums) could be too lax to where...
