    Secret Squirel Kill Switch Ideas

Think about ways to install a kill switch using factory switches, maybe install an older high beam switch on the floor to interrupt the fuel pump. maybe use cruise control switch to close or latch a relay that power fuel pump. I am searching for ideas to make an incognito anti start device...

    No spark after shutdown

those damn ignition modules have pissed me off quite a few times, I always carried 2 spares, I drove alot between Montana and Washington, and parts store could be 200 miles away sometimes. if I used one up I could still carry on and not worry and get one when I came into a city with a parts store.

Questions about snow plows and mounts.

I do appreciate you chiming in, and what you stated is kinda what I was thinking, I work at a place that does alot of fabrication and hydraulic work, I am confident I can build a very nice mount I just want a decent plow that doesnt cost 5or6 thousand.

Are all 350 Chevys mostly the same?

small journal and large journal is a 327 thing, before the 350 was available. short and large water pumps were used if it was a truck it came with a long pump, cars were short style. deck height remained the same, tall deck stuff is heavy duty big block stuff

    Break in procedure

how much timing did you have at 2,000 rpm? there is a defference in initial timimg and total timing, at 2,000 rpm the timing will be increased from what it is at an idle, its been a while since I broke in a new motor but i wanna say at 2,000 rpm you want between 15 and 20 degrees, i might be...

    Break in procedure

it is normal for them to be super hot, but if they are red, it is either too lean or to much timing, did you have a timing light hooked up?

Are all 350 Chevys mostly the same?

most heads that came stock on small block motors flat out suck, and in my opinion the small chamber 305 heads are the best bang for you buck, camel hump heads are nice and all if they have have accessory mount holes in them, 90's vortec heads arent bad, but the intake is a vortec only style

Are all 350 Chevys mostly the same?

possibly, run the numbers, if I remember correctly the good heads had a 58cc combustion chamber? I am thinking that 1982 might be a year or 2 too old, the SS monte carlo i know had them, but there is probably more cars that came with them if you just looking for a 300-350 HP motor it can be...

Are all 350 Chevys mostly the same?

283,307,327,305,350,400 all gm small blocks, all have same bellhousing and motor mount locations, accessory bracketry varies throught each generation, cylinder heads are the biggest change in all the motors, any cylinder from 72 and later until you get into the 90's vortec stuff is gonna be low...

Questions about snow plows and mounts.

I like the set of bars on your truck that go down the frame so far, I think thats a good idea for rigidity. I dont mind fabricating a mount that will work for me, but the price of the plow has to be very reasonable. if the electric/hydraulic parts are not in working condition I will probably...

Questions about snow plows and mounts.

That is definatley a heavy duty setup, It looks tough as nails, I do appreciate your pictures it does help me when I am looking at different styles of mounts. I haven't bought a plow yet, I am probably going to go take a look at a 7.5 foot western this weekend

    No spark after shutdown

I would replace the ignition module inside the distrubutor and there could be more fusible links, sometimes near the starter

    Break in procedure

after initial break in you should allow it to cool, change the oil and drive it with varying throttle input, dont just hold it at any rmp, keep it moving constantly moving your foot up and down on the pedal, try to keep it under 3,000 for a 100 miles or so, give it another oil change and than...

    Break in procedure

pay attention to header primary tubes and manifolds during the break in, if they start to glow red fatten up the carb with more fuel to try and lower EGT temps

    Break in procedure

your gonna want it filled with coolant. post #1 is spot on cannot stress it enough that the motor needs to run 2k for 20 minutes

Questions about snow plows and mounts.

Honestly I should have been looking throughout the summer months as well, I feel I am a little bit late in the year to start searching. I would love to find an ole chev that has a plow already mounted and needs some work. people in my are think a 30 year old setup is still worth what a brand...

Questions about snow plows and mounts.

For what I am wanting to do is pretty light duty, plow my 300 foot long driveway and clear the path to my shop, but I really do not want to buy a light duty communist made piece of metal. I have come to realization that I probably will not make a purchase this season. I really do appreciate all...

    Starts then stalls. Stumped.

one more thing, I had a truck do the same exact thing, and it took me weeks to figure out, somehow the tach was either grounding out or someshit, I unpluged the tachometer lead from the hei distrubutor cap, and it ran perfect
