    Roller break-in?

+1 and what 82sbshortbed and rpcraft stated. I ran my boat at constantly changing RPM for the three or four times out which was a couple hours. That period had numerous short blasts at full throttle too. After that drive it like you stole it. My only complaint is that I do have some oil...

    Roller break-in?

Wow, you don't normally hear of those kind of alt. changes on a regular basis. 5 or 6k I hear alot of. I understand completely but I personally would still have a carb. At least until I drove it enough times to not wanna deal with it anymore. As for roller break in, its not needed. I put a...

    Roller break-in?

Funny....same can be said about any carb and nobody takes the time or effort to do it. If they did they wouldn't be needing the Sniper. Sorry, I'm a die hard carb guy....

    I twisted my fuel line...

+1 If it ain't leaking you're good to go. Don't worry about it. For future reference before you replace these fittings you can run the nut up the tubing and put a small bit of grease on the back side of the flare. Definitely not inside the flare. When you tighten it back down the nut can spin...

    1974 K10 Newby here.

Nice ride. You may want to be a little careful parking it though. Those horns could impale somebody....LOL

Aries Step Bars / Nerf Bars

Looks nice. I've been trying to figure what to do with my Sub. Wife and Grandkids need a step of some sort but nothing out there anymore specifically made for our squares. I kinda figured I'd have to engineer some mounting hardware but I didn't know what kit would take the least amount of...

    Quick fuel or not.

Not familiar with automotive QF carbs but know many who have used marine QF carbs in their boats. Extremely high marks from virtually every one of them. Billet throttle body's and metering blocks/plates, adjustable air bleeds, externally adjustable floats with site windows, externally...

    Flame Arrestor delete

My square is an 86 C1500 Sub that is pretty much a bone stock 350 except for headers, dual exhaust, air pump delete and a Cliff Ruggles carb rebuild kit w/throttle shaft bushing install. I tuned it up with a cap, rotor, plugs, and a set of MSD wires. I've been running it like this for several...

engine missing after new intake gasket install

Agree with getting a cheap borescope. I hear that they're getting to be very reasonable. Probably should invest in one myself. As to the longer than normal plug possibility....could be a reasonable assumption but my thinking is that more than one cylinder would be affected if that truly...

engine missing after new intake gasket install

The only way a plug gets smashed like that is by something in the cylinder that aint supposed to be there.

    Flip Front Seat?

This is exactly why that post by Chengny on the thread "Did my truck come this way" needs to be pinned someplace. 1975 In 1975, GM changed its model line around a little. Custom line is dropped and Custom Deluxe becomes base model. Cheyenne Super is replaced by Silverado as top trim level...

Did my truck come this way??

I have no idea where you come up with this stuff sometimes but this is friggin AWESOME!!!!! Is there anyway we can pin this????? someplace?????

    Custom horn button idea.

Don't remember seeing Crager S/S center caps with a spinner. Very cool! I like it. You get the horn to actually work with it? As long as it doesn't interfere with steering go for it.

    Small block book

All books listed are great. I have probably half a dozen different ones myself most of which are listed here. I also have one that was fantastic is Rebuilding the Smallblock Chevy Step by Step Video book. Its an SA Design book. It includes a DVD that goes thru disassembly, machine work...

    Lets see those 20" rims!

Thanks for the props. Its truly appreciated coming from you guys. Everywhere I go with this thing i get cat calls, whistles and thumbs up like a hooker walking past a construction site. I know damn well they ain't directed at me either. I can't park it anyplace without some stranger coming up...

    Lets see those 20" rims!

Tires are 285/50R20. They look pretty bad ass when looking at the stance from behind too.

    What needs to be done?

OMFG... A young'un who gets it!!!!! I could go on and on with more examples but I won't bore you with details. Awesome looking ride by the way. That thing rocks.

    Lets see those 20" rims!

A little late to this. Coming off Strep Throat that really put me down. My apologies. Evidently not a lot of 20" wheels out there. These are 20×10 Ridlers on my square. Stock suspension and they fill the wheel wells much better than stock. Personally I dig 'em but I know not for everybody.

    Roller Rocker Arm Situation

You're making much harder than it needs to be. Just get a pushrod checker. You use your standard lifters and a really light spring. I got a kit from Comp that had two adjustable length pushrods and two suoer light springs. Put it all together on one cylinder and rotate the engine to verify the...

    Anyone seen these?

Maybe some sort of bar through the seat bottom to tilt it forward to get at the box? Looks like it would be really hard to access with the seat bottom in place.

84 GMC C2500 Dies After It Warms Up

+1 You aren't going far or long enough to promote vapor lock. You need to determine if you have spark and fuel when it happens. Eliminating the tank and lines to the pump is a good first start.

    Windshield antenna

Agreed. My 88 Sub had an external fender mount and it worked great. No complaints at all. I may look into an amp. Good call.
