    6.2 oil pan.

I'm looking to replace a beat up oil pan on my replacement engine. Does anyone have a part number for it? Ebay lists a pan that fits a 1984 Chevy K30, 6.2 diesel but it also fits numerous gas engines so the pan is not the correct one.

Ideas for fuel mileage - underdrive pulley? electric fan?

The TH400 and 4.10's aren't helping much. I'd go with 3.73's before I'd give up the TH400 for an overdrive trans.

Ok, while I was putting the flexplate on this thing I noticed a casting date of 9-7-82, is this a 'RED' block?

    Oil pressure switch

Lol, remember the X Bronx of years ago, you wouldn't dare leave you're vehicle there unattended. It would be a smoldering carcass in 15 minutes. Ahh, the good ol days of New Yawk. Lol!

    1984 Suburban 6.2L diesel surging

You more than likely have the box style fuel filter housing. They are notorious for leaks causing air in the fuel feed line to the injection pump. 86 that box filter housing and convert it to a spin on filter and an anti backflow valve. It will start easier also.

    Pallet testing a 6.2 diesel.

Not too happy about the po using Fram filters, I've been using WIX for years. This engine is a little sweaty, but the seller claims it only has 88K on it. I pulled the glow plugs out of it ,and they seem to be relatively new, I'll post a smoke and noise test fire video when I get it ready.

    Pallet testing a 6.2 diesel.

Gentlemen, I have a 6.2 I want to test run. I need to know if I can block off the oil cooler ports to run it. I get conflicting answers to this question ranging from one guy saying he ran his engine that way for two years, to it will be starved of oil and blow up by another. I could run a...

Help. Issue with 700r4 on truck i just bought

That's the throttle valve cable. It controls the shift points. If it's loose, then plastic retainer is likely broken. Do not drive the truck, order a new cable. They are a pita to replace with the transmission in the truck.

    Manual conversion

Just my 2 cents, but I would go with an NV4500. You're transfer case will bolt right up to it. You may not even have to mess with the driveshaft length.

Good evening gentlemen, has anyone retrofitted a Wilwood brake and clutch assembly to their trucks as a standard transmission conversion? I'm planning on an NV4500 conversion for my K30.

    Which Engine, M1008 CUCV

Too bad GM couldn't provide a reliable engine for those trucks. There were literally thousands of them auctioned off at Government Liquidations with very low mileage on them. My 86 M1031 had 27,000 miles on it and appeared hardly used.

    Offroad Marketing Part Time Kit?

I would leave it as it is. Your truck is going to drink gas with the added drag on the driveline. Full time 4×4 chews up the front tires also.

    383 Vortec/TBI Build Thread

I had a 97 Z71 shortbread 5.7 Vortec that was a complete nightmare. I replaced the CSFI with the MPFI spider and shortly after that, actually within a week, I drove the truck about 100 feet and the engine stalled out and locked up. It ran like a monster after the upgrade so I couldn't understand...
