    NV4500 question.

Yeah, there's a guy Josh on YouTube that did it with a K20. I was hooked after I saw the entire 7 part build he posted. What a screamer. Lol.

    Junk Ass hose clamps

I'd try McMaster Carr. See if they have turbocharger clamps, They'll be the last ones you'll buy.

    NV4500 question.

Good evening gentleman. I'm embarking on a a Deeetroit diesel 4-53T engine swap in my M1008/ K30. Question is will the NP208 directly bolt up to the NV4500? I'd rather not have to buy a $1500.00 205 if I don't have to.

Yup, the seller took I'm leaving the front axle as it is and putting dually adapters on the rear.

    Dana 60 front axle

Yeah, LOL I had to do that because I have no level pavement when I swapped out my G wagen engine .

    Dana 60 front axle

I saw this Dana 60 front axle on Facebook marketplace for $400.00 and had to jump on it. It's a 3.73 ratio and it's tight. Newer rotors and calipers.

    Organizational Tips

Seriously, most if not all the parts I remove from this thing go to the scrapper.

I just heave everything into my shed from 10 feet away, makes it really mentality stimulating when it's time to retrieve it.

    67 C50 trans ID....worth getting?

I see them going for between $200 to $500. You have to determine what gear ratio to use with this transmission.

2 or 4 inch suspension lift??

I have a 6in Skyjacker lift on mine installed by the previous owner. The ride is brutal.

    Borgeson steering shaft.

Well seeing as the shaft I removed was an aftermarket piece with aluminum universal joints, it was a bear to get off the steering box. I reluctantly had to put the MAP gas torch to it and use liberal amounts of penetrating oil. If you are removing the original rag joint shaft, it will be far...

    Borgeson steering shaft.

I know, my M1031 still had the rag joint type shaft. The old shaft pictured is a cheaper version of the one I installed.

    Borgeson steering shaft.

I installed a Borgeson steering shaft today. What a difference in stability over what it was before. The old one was loose and scary. Apparently, one of the knucklehead privious owner's decided to cut the shaft to either install it or center the steering wheel.

Which is stronger in 4lo, 700r4 or th400?

The TH400 is hands down the best transmission GM ever produced.

    6.2 diesel exhaust system

Nah, it's not a complicated system if you go with a dual exhaust .

Bought an 86 C20 Detroit Diesel!

    Welcome, and enjoy that 6.2!

    6.2 diesel exhaust system

A good exhaust shop should be able to to fab up a dual exhaust system relatively easily. It's a straight back system, not complicated at all.

The only thing controlled electrically on the R4 is the converter lockup. No such thing as an R4 without a trans valve throttle cable. It controls the shift points via the throttle linkage be it a gas or diesel.

I'm assuming your truck is 2wd. You would have to remove the transfer case adapter and replace it with the proper tail housing. You will need a transmission valve cable bracket to make the 700R4 work. Jegs, or Summit have them.

Also, a 32 spline 208 input shaft can be swapped out for the 27 spline input shaft. The case must be split to do this.

27 spline transfer cases were used behind the TH350 transmissions. TH400 has a 32 spline output shaft.

I'm going to bite the bullet and go for a new GV unit instead of a transmission swap. A 700R4 is out of the question as I had one in my M1031, and would have to find a 27 spline transfer case and the elusive trans valve cable bracket. Bottom line is, even though I never had any problems with the...

That's what I was thinking. I want to cruise @ 65 mph at 21-2200 rpm's . High rpm's is sure death of a 6.2 no matter what anyone says about running it on the governor all day long. Why do that if there is a better option.
