    Resistor question

Yes, vintage variable trailer brake resistor. Don’t need it but too cool to not restore and reinstall. Proudly made in Michigan USA.

    Resistor question

@bucket based on your lead I did a search for Vintage GMC electric brake resistor. BINGO! Mine is from a different manufacturer and not marked so obviously. Not needed but looks cool, like something from Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory. Might detail it and keep.

    2 post shop lift

You’re definitely right about making your life easier. I installed my 2-post lift in 2016 and it’s the best tool I ever bought. Mine is sized for lifting our diesel dually trucks, a Ram 3500 and Ford F-350. It’s also extra high as I’m 6’4”. One thing to make you aware of is it can be a tight...

    Resistor question

Getting ready to remove and paint the LH side inner fender on my 1975 Blazer and can’t determine what this large resistor is for. Truck came from factory with air, auto and 350 engine. Figure someone here knows for sure!

Any cb’s that would fit in the radio slot?

Can’t see it in the pic but the handset has a “push to talk” button on it that regular phones didn’t have.

Any cb’s that would fit in the radio slot?

CB radios bring back a lot of memories. My dad had this cool rig in his Dodge truck. We crossed the country more than once between VA and Cal. in that truck, yackin with the truckers on the CB. The handset made it seem like you had a phone in your truck, but who ever heard of such nonsense as a...

What have you done to your square lately??

Removed, disassembled and refinished the center console. Never paid much attention to it and was surprised to learn that the lid, cup holder and about half the body is cast metal and has some heft to it. The very bottom piece that bolts to the floor brackets is fiberglass.

What have you done to your square lately??

Went ahead and dyed the door pockets; figured they wouldn’t be used much at all so color may hold up. Also installed my new steering wheel. Never liked the rubber and aluminum one much. Love the new one! Before: After:

What have you done to your square lately??

Removed both door panels, lubed the window regulators and dyed the panels and arm rests. Need to do something about the the map pockets. I suspect dyeing won't work on something so flexible so may get wife to make new ones in the correct ( or more correct ) color. Saw a great How To thread here...

It's important to not overtighten the pan bolts too, regardless of the gasket. Steel pans will warp, aluminum pans can crack. I use a torque wrench to make sure they're all tightened evenly to the specified torque.

Have h Great gaskets. Every day I look at the floor under my two trucks and every day the floor is dry. Plus you can reuse them if you need to drop the pan for something.

What have you done to your square lately??

@BRetty I bought the shaft from The Steering Store from their eBay store. It does replace the rag joint with a universal joint. It is the Borgeson 000932 which says its for 73-76 Chevy or GMC trucks.

What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced my old steering shaft on the Blazer with a Borgeson shaft with universal joints and also replaced the lower bearing on the steering column. When I removed the old bearing I thought it came out too easy and then saw the plastic retainer was broken. Job was pretty straightforward and...

    What is this please!

I took it off today and saw one word on it: Moroso. So googled Moroso and found it. Then tossed it.

    What is this please!

Can somebody tell me what this part is? It’s bolted to the inner fender on the passenger side on my 75 Blazer, which was originally a 350 engine. I looked thru the factory service manuals for the heating system but just don’t see it!

What have you done to your square lately??

@mattsk8 I has this same problem with my 57 with 383 and Mallory distributor. As you described it would cut off instantly, as if the key was turned off but would fire back up again, sometimes taking a few minutes to do so. Tried several different things as you have. In the end it was the...

Bent some steel tubing and replaced rubber hoses at new fuel pump with steel lines that run from pump to tank and engine lines. Turned out nice.

    Radiator shroud removal

I am planning on replacing my cracked shroud but question how to remove the existing one. Most threads on this subject talk about split shrouds that are stapled or bolted together. Mine is one big piece. Do I really need to work inside the shroud to remove the fan and pulley to get this off...

What have you done to your square lately??

Drove my Squares to a big Cruise-In! Tonight the wife and I took the 75 Blazer and the 87 R1500 to a big Cruise-In in Chatam VA, which is about a 45 minute drive from the farm. I drove the Blazer. There were about 400 cars that descended on Chatham which is typical for their events. People...

What have you done to your square lately??

I re-mounted my pump this morning. Now it’s right at the bottom of the tank, but not sticking down below it. The new bracket has an offset in it to move the pump back away from the differential. Lowered it down to verify I had plenty of clearance before tightening everything up. Almost looks...

What have you done to your square lately??

@PrairieDrifter Had two reasons for the switch. First was vapor lock problems. Even with the carb insulated with a phenolic spacer and the fuel line between the mechanical pump and carb insulated I still had problems. Then the fuel pump just quit, second one in a month. The failed pump was too...
