You can't check the drain with a meter at your fuse block? That should at least tell you what circuit has the drain.

    Kit Truck?

I'm not saying that fiberglass is superior to metal. The idea is more one of having all the parts actually designed to work together as part of the kit. We've all heard or experienced the wonder to LMC or other companies replacement panels. Having something where you know all the parts will...

    Kit Truck?

I was watching some of the weekend auto shows last weekend and one of them did a show on a kit hot rod. The kit was a '33 Ford that was designed from the ground up for performance in addition to looks. The kit was designed by Factory Five and the body is fiberglass. Obviously this isn't a...

    Gauge Coolant Temp Sensor/Sender HELP

Prev owner may have noticed cooling system wasn't holding pressure and went with a lighter cap. Not uncommon with an older radiator that needs to be re-cored. It is a way to cheat a coolant leak. Not a good way but it is done.

Tow Trucks, Wreckers and Car Hauler Discussion

Worked out ok for me but the SeaTac run has been postponed. Three out of 4 of our trucks are giving us problems now. Hopefully we can get one of them back up tomorrow. If we're lucky, something may happen on another one tonight.

Guess we're going more into long haul. Last Monday was 185 miles down to Olympia (thru Seattle). Tuesday was going to the coast for 28' motorhome going 240 miles (thru Seattle). Yesterday was 100 miles into Seattle and today will probably be south of Seattle with a detour thru one of the...

Piece of metal in oil pan

Then you'll need a left handed oscillating screwdriver to reinstall the bearing. You don't want to wing it on muffler bearings or it will throw off you exhaust harmonics leading to resonating backflow that can fracture the flux capacitor. If that happens you may need to rebuild your neighbor's...

AMEN!! I'm dealing with a damage claim from AAA right now. Guy says I bent his tie rod and I'm not seeing it. I've made mistakes before and I have no problem owning them. That didn't happen here. I hate greedy dumbshits.

Agero has to be the worst. It's all insurance companies and people are already wired to think the insurance companies owe them. Doesn't matter that I'm not the insurance company, I obviously work directly for them so I take part in the monthly screwing. Sorry, rant over.

Tow Trucks, Wreckers and Car Hauler Discussion

It's Wednesday and it feels like it should be Friday. Monday I got called at 5 am for a Harley that needed a ride about 100 miles down the road. Normally I start at 8 so I wouldn't be getting that call but the night guy didn't want to go that far on his "friday night" so I pulled my clothes on...

Match the batteries or don't do it. Your batteries will find balance between the two and it won't go up to the higher battery.

It isn't my go to position to put someone in the cab alone. It is one I use in dangerous situations. I've had customers not listen and try following me around on the side of the freeway. They don't care where they walk and cross into traffic without looking or any awareness of the scene. If...

I agree with HR about tipping. It isn't expected but it is appreciated. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to who tips and for what. I've had a $20 tip to pick up a POS that ultimately went to the crusher and I've hauled a fully restored 29 Model A for no tip. Go figure. As for...

    97 burb transmission woes...

Picked up a tranny out of a 98 with only 107k today. Gonna pull the pan and TC to make sure it isn't all chewed up. I also want to get as much of the old fluid out as I can. Probably be a couple weeks before I get the chance to install it but at least I got it.
