I passed this one by and wasn't going to even reply, but you asked... That lifter looks trashed from where I'm sitting. Lifters are not supposed to be concave. I would NOT reuse it. Not even close. Carb to brake booster hard vacuum line, why can’t I find it!?!?
First off, I like to keep things original, so I would use a metal pipe like the one it came with. You won't likely find one at a parts house. Best bet for an original is an antique junkyard. Jumpy oil pressure gauge
The sender on these trucks was prone to failure. I'm not much on throwing parts at a problem, but it's a pretty safe bet. Also, make sure the plug wires aren't routed to close to the sender wiring. Good lock!- KnuckleBuster

exhaust manifold "air" ports sealant
Finding a correct fitting can be a nightmare. I had some ramshead manifolds with air injection. Used solid pipe-threaded plugs. I put some anti-seize on them, screwed them in tight, and then cut them off flush with the manifold. Looks great. I should mention that I installed them backwards...- KnuckleBuster

Am i calibrating this starter right?
Never heard it called "calibration" before, but it looks like you're trying to adjust the pinion-to-flywheel clearance. Do NOT measure the distance between the armature shaft and the flywheel.
