Should I trade for a Square?

So, why does your mechanic want to get rid of the SB? Did he bring up the trade? If so, that would make me think he's getting the better deal.

Should I trade for a Square?

Be sure to inspect the SB really well. Might even be worth it to have a mechanic inspect it.

    Are front wheel bearings adjustable?

Good video, informative, but I believe he should have explained more about the inspection of the bearings. Always replace bearing and races together. Never mix/match them. You will get bearing noise. This is an image of a S-10 but the parts are the same.

    Differential skid plates

Differential skid plates are one of those items that, IMO, are more for show than go. They are more suited for those rock bouncing buggies. For our DD weekend wheeler thing, a diff skid plate would be more of item to help slide over an object if you were to get hung up on. But then you would...

Do intermittent wipers use a different wiper motor?

No. You only need the intermittent switch and module that plugs into it. Motor doesn't know but how to sweep.

Do I need different gears with 33” tires and 4” lift

I had 3.08 and 33s with a 350/4 sp. No issues with around town cruising. Highway it's a little high as you don't have the pickup in third if you step on the gas. 3.5 or 3.73 would be a lot better. 3.73 if you think you are ever going to tow something.

    Axle/Suspension Piece Identification

Those axle trusses were there with the intent of keeping the axle tubes bending from jumping the vehicle. Very popular in the 70s and 80s. For show really, they even had chrome ones. Even models back then had them front and rear...

    Upgrade to 20 Gallon tank

IIRC, the fill opening is the same for both tanks. If you look at your tank it is probably short fitting under the cab. i.e. there is room where the bump is for the cab. Yes, long beds will accept the 20 gal. tank, short beds will not.

    Wire Connector Help

Do you have any of the old clips that are out and can match them up? The company may either shipped the wrong ones or updated them. If they are not clipping/locking into place I would think they are incorrect.

    Dual Tank Issues

You can pull the switch from the dash, mark the wires and remove them. then ohm out the switch to see if there is a short. Stolen from another forum. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=754061 There were three fuel valves used between 1973 & 1991. None of the systems are...
