What have you done to your square lately??

.....I believe that they have allready pretty well messed up the fuel lines.....but im sure I could figure out how to hook it up. I'll buy one and keep it handy. Instilation looks like it should be pretty straight forward. Just pulled my distributor.....tbh im kinda suprised that it ran as...

Really? Thats nuts. I was WAY wrong. Idk what I read that led me to believe they were 600 cfm. Any good threads on this topic?

What have you done to your square lately??

I think the 454 Qjet is a 600cfm carb. But I could be wrong. On the 750 the primary / secondary apear identical. The 600 has significantly smaller primaries but secondaries seem to be the same size as the 750. Ive found its best if you are not giving it a full pump shot and its really...

@Blue Ox Can you use diesel pumps with gasoline? It kinda just looks like a cheaper version of the Mr Gasket / Eddy pumps that we are talking about

What have you done to your square lately??

No, i have not. I'll check them out. Ive got a Holley fuel by-pass regulator on the way. So.....so as long as it makes at least 5.5psi I should have no issues.

What have you done to your square lately??

Why do you prefer a mechanical to the in-tank route? I'm still learning theory behind all of these systems and am genuinely curious. Tbh......i think I'm more likely to go the in-tank route. My reasoning is that i'm kind of considering swapping the carb for an EFI set up. Pretty sure I...

@bucket Can you point me in the direction of some good threads on the topic of pumps and pump conversions? Lol I have a hell of a time navigating forums on my phone. And I just have SOOOO many questions.

What have you done to your square lately??

Mechanical fuel pump was removed. There is a plate where one would mount. Ive got a pretty full tank...going to try to get by on this set up untill I run the fuel mostly out before relocating the pump back by the tank where it belongs. Going to install a propper Holley fuel reg/bypass while...

What have you done to your square lately??

I'm battleing a Frankenstein nightmare. This whole tuck, im learning, was Jerry rigged and half assed every step of the way. Pretty sure this pump does not belong in the engine compartment. And this home made pressure regulator / return line set up is....well, kinda strange. Its 5/16 at...

    Hi There, Manu from France

And Me? Nah... I like high capacity magazines too much. And gosh....whats it cost to fill a 30gal tank in France?

I'm batteling carb issues as well. I'm running an Edlebrock 1407 (750cfm). Im pretty sure its just way too much carb for my application. A 625 -650 would be plenty.

Yeah....what he said. Its a 5speed manual that is pretty popular for older trucks.

    Hi There, Manu from France

This is a genuine question .....the ladies over there....do these trucks seem to have the same appeal?

Frankenstein 454 swap. Overheating at idle.

The painless wiring harness has three (3) 40a relays and a 70a fusible link. Forgive the mess. I'm still sorting it out. It will all be put in a propper wire loom once I know whats what.

Frankenstein 454 swap. Overheating at idle.

Hmm...never got alerts for last two posts? My bad guys. I'll post pics of my "Painless" fan relay wiring set up. Its not actually been "mounted". The previous owner installed it directly between the fan shroud and the motor. Had been spliced SO MANY times and with the toaster oven...

Frankenstein 454 swap. Overheating at idle.

@Bextreme04 When fans kick on, I lose between 150 and 200rpm at idol. Drops down to about 600ish. Is this pretty normal? All seems to be functioning properly otherwise. Maybe set idle a little higher than recomended 800rpm? One time while crusing around today it stumbled a bit at take...

Frankenstein 454 swap. Overheating at idle.

I tried 3 different caps I had laying around. None solved it. The cut out did. Shuts cleanly. I'll dress the cut and get it painted. What are they using to glue the support to the hood? Figured I could re attach. Either side.

Frankenstein 454 swap. Overheating at idle.

@Bextreme04 Smh...yeah...im not a fan, I most def did not do that. It , serves zero purpose and looks a little silly IMHO. I think they look tough enough from the factory. Maybe could be made to serve a purpose? Im sure there is a good thread on such things. Time to get the grinder out....
