Help! What the hell am I supposed to?

looks like some type of bushing. Try tapping on the back of it toward the end of the shaft with a small hammer. Maybe it will slide off

    Rear end question

Why count the teeth? Just look at the stampings on the ring gear. 10 41, so 41/10, it's got 4.10's

    Crossover steering clearance issue

Is your castle nut tight? I don't see any threads sticking out for a cotter pin, or even in the slot on the top of the nut. I bet if you tighten that you will get another .5" to 1" clearance.

400 SBC heads weird casting number

Your first head is at least matched in CC's and valve sizes. No idea about runner volume, etc., but for a truck motor you probably won't notice. 3998997 350/400 71-73 1.94/1.50 76cc

400 SBC heads weird casting number

No, I wasn't referring to the head itself, just the numbers. I would assume the 72 is the year based on those heads were made from 70-76 but I am unsure how accurate that is.

    77 Vent Windows

This is why I love this site. I've always owned a 70's style Squarebody. Never looked too deeply into how different the 80's were (except for body style, column, interior, FI, etc.) and didn't know the vents on the 80's style locked. I'll have to get some!

I want a rear sliding window!

Yup, Chevy has the C/K 10/20/30 and GMC has the C/K 15/25/35 (My wheeler project was a GMC K15). I believe the 10-35 designations were when the trucks were C/K, when they went R/V they got the 1500/2500/3500 for both Chevy and GMC. I didn't read this entire thread I'll admit, but if you lived...

    Ugh, what's wrong with people!

Seriously?! 33x12.5 on 20x14 rims. I'm assuming the hammer and grinder were to make some clearance so he can turn lol Probably why he's selling them

Just a little tip for you

Similar, but I use colored zip ties. Especially at work when I have to disconnect a hydraulic unit and there are 20+ hoses. If I run out of colors I just double the colors. I always leave them on so if I have to do it again it's already marked or the poor shmuck going in after me at least has a...

I use a chart like this. I don't see 53's though. Maybe look up a farm tire chart.

    14 bolt posi swap

I believe they are the same. I know the pinion bearings are bigger on the newer ones but not sure if that includes the I.D. if the bearing or just the O.D.

UPDATE: Airsoft bb's as balance beads

I've heard Jeeps around here do that. I'm not sure I want that on a daily though.

UPDATE: Airsoft bb's as balance beads

Alrighty, the beads are fine, I saw some slight scalloping in the center of the front tires and decided to rotate the tires. Problem fixed. No more vibration or shaking. Apparently I need to get an alignment though, lol.

    1981 3/4T Suburban in WA

If anyone is looking for a project, or a flip if you have the parts laying around. Shouldn't take much to get it going again. https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1981/chevrolet/suburban/101355267

Beadlock and tires and back spacing.. oh my.

For wheeling go all rubber. If you catch a steel one on a rock or branch you could break it then you're pulling your tire to change a valve stem. Rubber will just bend out of the way.

    2 post radio

Looking for a radio to fit in the factory holes. My dash is uncut and I would like to keep it that way. Anyone have a radio hanging around that fits? Factory or aftermarket doesn't matter. I just need a radio that works.
