    I didn’t think they would run into the oil passage. But I’ve for sure had oil run out of multiple bolts before. Don’t know what this would be

    I believe that’s condensation? I didn’t see that before and as you can see on the valve covers, it’s very wet here. Now I’m thinking “is that oil!?!?”

    It’s not perfect but it’s better than what it was… and I had fun! I will be painting the bolts also, just haven’t got the wire wheel spinning yet.

    I have an open air cleaner. Does that still affect the crankcase breather tube? Check out my pictures in my last post

    I’ve got the little spreaders under the bolts. I have a PVC valve in the driver side and a breather cap in the other. I don’t know how well the pictures are but you should be able to see the oil soaked on the back of the exhaust manifold and that far back bolt.

    The new chrome ones are from LMC. Cheapest pair out there but not bad quality for 30 bucks.

    Brand new covers. Still checked the edges from habit and were perfectly straight.

    I wish it was nice enough to sand and paint here in Washington… :( Oh well… just means I have more time to make plans to spend more money in the spring when I pull the whole thing down to the frame! :D I can’t wait!

    I just replaced the valve covers and gasket so I think I can rule that one out. Could still be possible. It’s happened to me before.

    I thought they might be connected with an oil passage? Maybe I’m stupid but a bolt on the back side of my manifold is leaking oil. I’m swapping the stock manifolds out for long tube headers and didn’t want any more leaks

    My truck died on me today while I was hauling leavers for my neighbor. Wouldn’t start up and I had gas pouring down the carburetor from a leak in a gasket. So I did what I thought was best and pulled the carb for a rebuild. I think I’m in over my head… :eek: Oh well… I just hope it’s going back...
