    Hello from Las Cruces NM

I was just on Post last week. My wife had a procedure over at Womack. Bragg is a pretty large facility that spans 4 different counties. I have been at Uwharrie (mentioned in another post yesterday) on a couple different occasions and seen some special unit (Green Beret/Ranger/Delta) out humping...

Power steering leaking from weep hole

You have the gearbox pictured but mention the pump. I don't recall either having a weep hole like a water pump has. The pump may have a breather hole in the cap but the pump itself as well as the box should not. Hydraulics don't work well with air because air compresses and fluid does not. I...

Biggest jobs you have completed in the shortest amount of time.

I built the truck from spare parts & it was the first excursion for it. The tranny had acted goofy a time before so I carried another tranny along with axle shafts & joints.

My wife is small and is pregnant

Reading the title I immediately thought "she won't be small for long"! You can source a collapsing step that could be easily stored under the seat or behind. You'll have to be a gentleman & grab the door & step for her this way though. HS

Biggest jobs you have completed in the shortest amount of time.

About 25 years ago we were wheeling my '80 SB out at Uwharrie and the trans burned up. Yanked off the trail & into the campsite about 7PM. Pulled the tranny & had running again when the Ranger came by at 10PM to remind us of "quiet time". Now...who's gonna ask me why I carried a spare...

    THM350C alternatives or keep it?

Seems like the input shaft is different on the "C" trans. It has a pressure sensor in the valve body & the large 4-pin plug too. I would definitely use a standard TH350 case for rebuilding. HS

    1987 GMC Suburban

Welcome from NC. Chilton manuals are usually more technical than Haynes even though they're the same company. I agree with the previous post about an SBC manual also. There should be plenty of information out there on the web as well. Good luck. HS

    Truck Size

I would drive dad's crew occasionally after getting my license at 16. My friends joked that I should have gotten CDL's due to the length of the crew cab long bed and manual transmission. Here's a pic of my '16 2500 and dad's '79 C20 for comparison. The newer cabs are stretched both forward and...

85 grille to 82 grille swap questions

A buddy of mine picked up an 83-84 from FBMP. It was listed for $200 & he got it for $85...still in the GM box. He doesn't even have a GMC Square...it'll probably be back on FBMP soon. HS
