    Splash Shields?

They get broken, and the rubber wears out. The cab ones are just plastic they crack were the screw clips attach. I'm not sure why the put the cab shields on the trucks. They seem to collect dirt which turns to mud. I replaced them, because of the high water we get here in the Houston area.

Why doesn't anyone use the Chevy "Connect & Cruise" packages?

They are designed for the shop builds that cost $$$. They are easy for them to put in a project and are guaranteed a good result.

    1999 454 carb swap. best street carb, 600? 650? 750? CFM

Ford had to add port injectors to its Eco boost DI engines. Why? Carbon builds up. Most of the race shops are adding a second fuel system and port injectors on the newer DI engines like the LT's. It much simpler than trying to get more fuel out of the engine driven pumps. I think we have...

    Aux battery for audio

Thats a good electrical system you have there, but how does it do if the truck isn't running? How long will your only battery last , and still start the truck? Just saying.

What have you done to your square lately??

Wow we are back in the mid 90's with all this TPI talk. There was group of us with Camaros that ran all around the Houston area street racing. We all built them differently. One was a Accel super ram, one was a SLP type ( I can't remember the name), I had the Arizona speed and marine runners...

How to mount 1983 (O-ring style) PS pump on 1975 K10

With out pictures I would only be guessing. Drill some new holes in the bracket? Are you using the new pump bracket, or the old pump bracket?

Daughters ‘87 needs to ride smooth.

I would look at replacing the control arm bushings. If not done already. You might be riding metal on metal. I would look at a hydraulic shocks , not a gas filled ones. Tires with a decent sized side wall. In the rear again look at the spring bushings they are more than likely dry rotted. A...

Building a new motor for my 79 C10 - would love some advice!

Here is an easy way to make sure the parts all match. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-2038/make/chevrolet It's a little pricey but your almost guaranteed the advertised performance. There are more levels and other manufactures that offer the packages. I think GM still offers a Vortech...

    Rebuild or Swap?

Summit has some good kits. If the 350 block is good I would order a 383 kit and go from there. I guess it depends on your budget and how soon you need to drive the truck.

Which A/C compressor do I have?

Make sure the vacuum line from the engine bay is connected to the AC control panel that's mounted in the dash. The default operation when there is no vacuum is the air blows out the bottom heater ducts. Thats the easy fix. If you have vacuum and the switch is working, you may have to look at...

What have you done to your square lately??

Pulled the pass side fuel tank. It's never been in use since I've owned the truck. The PO tried to patch it with glass. I've been running off of the driver's side tank for years. I bought a new tank, hoses electric pump and a pickup several years ago. I was going to upgrade to F.I. , but have...

    Edelbrock accelerator pump

Some of the old trucks didn't have the timing tab that mounts to the timing cover. They had a small sight that you looked down through in the water pump mounting area. It's located between the back of the pump and the block. Many of them are missing. Just throwing that out there, my truck was...

90s sun visors in my 77

They look good to me. There's not much originality to any of these old trucks. I've tried to keep as much as I could of the old interior parts, not so much in the engine compartment.

Yes that Yes that is the cruise control module. Don't just throw it away they are hard to find. Someone will want it. Don't be like me and get rid of a bunch of hard-to-find stuff. Then years later wish you had it back. Not sure on the wiring.

What have you done to your square lately??

Ordered my dust seal for the slip yoke. The splines look ok. I have always kept this greased over the years. The shafts are keyed just like the transmission, with one larger spline. just as I had guessed there was no sign of a seal. It must have deteriorated years ago. See the link below. The u...
