What have you done to your square lately??
So far today I have driven it to my favorite-ex-brother-in-law's so I could install a soft top on his roommate's Bronco. Last summer I installed the roll bar, I recently installed 3 point seat belts, and today we did the bikini top. I think it came out pretty nice. -

C20 for towing
I think it depends on what you want/need and how much time/how many miles you actually tow. There is no denying the Cool Factor in a campground when someone pulls in with a well maintained older truck. Can a Square Body tow? Absolutely, that's what Trucks do! 1986 Rare Build sheet? Tell me what you think!
I am going to say right up front that I have never personally seen or even heard of a stepside with the 6.2 Diesel. That alone sets this truck apart. The MM4 Transmission is relatively unusual as well, they made them but they certainly weren't "common". Please post more pics of this Truck!- Redfish

I very much want to do this as well. I like the idea of keeping a factory look but I always wished for a tachometer instead of that huge fuel gauge when I was driving my parents' vehicles. The nostalgia is nice but I want a tach. Of course I am VERY proud of my Quartz Clock! I hate to lose that. -

I replaced both front calipers with a remanufactured set. The truck drives soooo much better. Apparently both calipers have been performing erratically for some time making me think I had more slack in the steering than I really had. They were original to the truck from 1987. They only had... -
Front caliper upgrade?
I was just looking at these exact calipers last night. I am seriously considering trying these out. I am enjoying driving the truck all stock and so far the braking has been adequate. But this is a modification that no one can easily see and I like that a lot. -
What was the cause of the door strap defect?

Thanks, but it's a little rough if you saw it in person. I am also running a Skyjacker front lift. The truck had blocks in the rear. In hindsight I should have paid the extra money and got the rear Skyjacker springs. That is still on the table. I want more rake than I have, to get it like...- Redfish

@10scoops I don't know if you are focused on 35s and want the right lift for that or you want to get a certain look. The Truth that @mcarlo86 posted is worth listening to. My truck has just over 2 inches of lift and is running on 33s. 35s would definitely rub without more than 2 inches of...- Redfish

My right front caliper is locked up. My local O'Reilly's ordered a set from another store but even though I have boxes marked with the correct part numbers, I have two left side calipers. I took them back, asked for a RIGHT side to go with the left one. I was nice because it wasn't the fault... -

Is that a factory original radio with a cassette player I see? Does it still work? I have a very nice Retrosound in my truck but it would have been nice to be able to play the cassettes of that era...that I still have! -
What did you pay for a square
Thanks Ayden. But I can assure you it doesn't look that good up close and personal. It has a lot of rock chips in the paint and it cannot hide its true age. But we love it.- Redfish

@Grit dog why do I need tow hooks on the front? I have a hitch on the back and a chain that will connect to any Ford or Dodge. As long as the Fords and Dodges have tow hooks on THEIR front bumpers I can safely drag them out of mudholes and to the mechanic shop with no problems! @Memaloose...
