It'll smell, especially in Houston. I had the floor of my low4x4 coated and it stank ever since. I regretted it but it would've been next to impossible to remove it all.
Well I installed the new box, pump, lines and Pittman arm. Very happy to announce that it works Like a dream. Absolutely no noises at all, sounds just like it should. Its a beautiful thing.
Hey guys right above where the shaft bolts to the column look a like its come loose...never had this happen before. There is a c clip of sorts that was still there. I can't seem to push it all back together. Pretty dang loose in there I'd say 1/4 inch of play.
I've been installing a new...
so is this still an effective and safe modification for these trucks? I saw something about tack welding, and inserting bolts into the smaller and bigger shaft. I don't want to do something that will be half ass and could possibly fail
Pulled the box off the truck and pumped some more junk out....pure metallic gunk. So I brought it to car quest and ordered a new box and Pitman arm. Now everything will be new.
Also, remember when I was told I shouldn't buy pumps from oreillys?
Yeah. Car quest is suppose to be the...
I called the maker of the pump and they suggested flushing out the steering box. Since I already removed the pump all I could do was Jack the truck up and tour the wheel to and fro letting the fluid pump out of the box.
Ordered a pump, and pressure line...bought new return line, and a new...
Got rained out so I decided to pull the pump and will replace with a new one not reman...also will replace the lines because I'm thinking the pressure line could be collapsed inside its old as hell.
Hey....lost my cool yesterday. 85 c10 the blue one.
When I put the engine in the truck I used the old pump and reservoir that was already in the the truck back on. It was leaking s one day I figured I'd fix it.
Replaced the pump and reservoir with ones from oreillys, reman.
Fixed the...
hey guys, my dad swapped a TBI system from a van into his 86 short wide. The truck recently quit running, he insisted it was the fuel pump but I could still hear it running when you turn the key on. I went ahead and pulled the bed back and then realized to my surprise that you cannot reach the...
Hey dudes in my blue 85, which has dual tanks, when ever either one is full the gauge reads 1/4 tank. Moves on down to about an 1/8th inch below empty when they are empty.
Gauge acts the same when either tank is activated.
Grounds or back gauge?
Isn't there a resistance you can check...
I did like you said and yeah it does work now. Seems like it only works at Lower speeds....I guess that's natural you dont want it kicking down Into second at 70 mph
Undid it from the trans. It was hooked up. Hooked it back up. Had the wife push the gas all the way while I pushed the tab in again. Still doesn't work. I feel like the cable is too long. It has like 1.5" left after the little black hook that attaches to the carb linkage
I read that you pulled the tab, then opened the throttle all the way up and then close the tab. Did not work and I still have like 1.5" extra cable left on the end before the linkage catches it. Could it not be hooked up down on the trans?
