Cummins in a square body wiring.

The voltmeter will come on when you connect with your alternator. I used brackets that worked with a Chevy alternator and AC. If you are interested in those visit www.autoworldmt.com. Chevy alternators are generally 2 or 3 wire. I doubt a dodge alternator would be difficult to figure out but if...

Cummins in a square body wiring.

The oil pressure gauge has a brown wire coming out of the firewall. The sensor is a 3/8 thread and below the oil filter on the passenger side. Vibration has a lot of effect on this gauge and is the reason for the flex tube. Make sure your sensor is tied away from the block or you get a crazy...

Cummins in a square body wiring.

I'm going to start with the gauges. The water temperature is a single green wire leading out the firewall. There are all kinds of ports to install in the engine for the sensor. The back of head drivers side is the hottest part of the head. Install a 1/2 in Chevy sensor here.

4 link coil spring front 4x4 cc drw

Plate? Maybe this is something I haven't learned. From all the reading on compounds with a cummins all he need is head studs over 50 psi to not blow a gasket. Well and a built tranny/torque converter. My 47re is a lawn ornament over a bully dog.

    Possible clutch issue

I didn't read it properly. It's just a heavy duty clutch. They are just stiff. My cummins is like that. You just have to adjust to it. Lots of people complain about them in traffic. At least it's not a bunch of slop before it engages.

    Possible clutch issue

I'd adjust the linkage if it's mechanical to go deeper. If its hydraulic make sure it's completely bleed properly.

    another Chevy Cummins swap

I'm glad to hear you got this thing running. Now time to play with the gremlins you may come across. I just shelled the tranny in my 03 2500, so I've been driving my burb. That thing sure smells and sounds like a cummins vs the common rail. Even though I love 24 valve.

    another Chevy Cummins swap

I've used a Chevy and ford starter with it. I've had both transmissions behind it.

    another Chevy Cummins swap

The wiring to the starter is going to be wired the same as it was with the Chevy gas engine. I have a cummins engine and a ford starter. Theres the battery cable and like a 6 awg wire on the large post of the starter. If I'm not mistaken the 6 awg runs your accessories and goes to alternator. Im...

    another Chevy Cummins swap

Pull the negative battery cable and put your voltmeter between the cable and post. Do you have a reading? You're also being kinda vague. Are you starting the engine and it has a drop? Is it just in acc mode? Details man.

A truck that had 6.2 would be easier but from my understanding you have to take it to a referee to get the title changed to be designated diesel. Here is the link to a guy who is on his second swap in Cali. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=539196 If I tag it here I will let you...

The 4bt is a 90 model. I got one of the guys at a cummins site clueing me in on the how to. He's working on his second swap in Cali. The block has to be newer or the same year as the truck and you have to follow the emissions of that year engine. Keeping it Pre 98.
