    The brakes breaks !

2-3 times of rotation won't be enough to push the air out of your PS system. X3 on doing it with engine off. I don't know if the hydroboost system is going to get enough fluid return with only one port. Mine had 2 returns and worked great.

5.9l Cummins swap into a lucky Square Body

The 24 valve is very reliable. Gas mileage is about the same, but power is obtainable on the fly. I don't know how much a common rail weighs but the electronics are all incompassed with the engine. The computer is right on the side of the block. The common rail is a quieter engine which I like.

    The brakes breaks !

Does it have 3 ports on the back of the pump? One pressure and two returns? Dodge had a vacuum brake some years and hydraulic brakes others. I don't know which years but I've seen both. You should have 2 return ports on the back that thing.

Also does the power steering fluid look foamy?

    The brakes breaks !

Do you have pics of the routing of your hydraulic lines? The slow return of the pedal makes me think you have a slow return of power steering fluid back to the pump. Are they T'd in or do you have a dual return pump?

I've been liking the Bay Area but San Francisco is a f*n mess. San Jose is beautiful but everything is so expensive. I love mountains and all the water in the area. There are just to many damn people.

    Diesel engine ideas

The real shock comes in the cost of parts. You might wanna start checking into it before you dive in. Those injectors I mentioned are 300 a piece and up. A rebuild kit is about 1200 for a 12 valve. I'm planning on 1700 when it's time for my common rail. I don't even wanna get into the cost of...

You will need to beef up your springs. I'm not sure what can be done to your spindles and bearings to handle the extra weight. Maybe pull some from a c20? These engines weigh almost twice a 454.

Boost and fuel = power. You just need to make that turbo spin fast by a small turbine to spin the engine fast. You will have higher egts to go with it.

I have 5 in out the back. You put a phat shaft 12 in turbine with 100 over sticks that fucker will snap your neck.

    Diesel engine ideas

What are you putting this in? That's an 1800 pound engine. What transmission with viable gears could you use? That was made for hauling heavy loads without any concern for speed. There would be a bunch of money thrown at something that would be nauseatingly loud. My 4bt would give me a headache...

It will have to be turbo'd for a quick wind up. Obviously a v8 configuration will have a quicker wind up, but are known for reliability issues. The inline configurations can wind quick with heavy fueling and a smaller turbo housing on the turbine. The are rumors of cummins coming out with v6/v8...

5.9l Cummins swap into a lucky Square Body

A 454 weighs 650-700. A 6bt is 1150-1200. Kinda like having the 454 and throwing a fully dressed and full of liquid 350 on top of it.

crate engine or rebuild original 350?

I don't know man. A carbureted chevy 350 is so easy to rebuild and parts are cheap comparably to other brands and engines. It doesn't even make sense to buy a crate. The first time you do it can be intimidating, but get a good book and you do it once you won't regret it.

crate engine or rebuild original 350?

Do the lifters look burnt? Are they cracked? Do they bottom out? Did it tap when running after a proper adjustment? Do you have a bent push rod? Do the rockers look scored, burnt, or bent? Do a proper inspection, clean them, lubricate, and reinstall. Discard if necessary. I don't know how many...

crate engine or rebuild original 350?

Those hydraulic lifters don't need exact clearances. Just make sure the lifter is all the way down in the valley off the cam lobe, tighten the rocker until the push rod wiggle is just barely gone and give it a half turn in tight. It is very easy.
