    Sorry. Another Charcoal Canister Question

One for each tank? I believe the one in the third picture will hook up as described above and the first picture will connect to the other tank and then the 2 smaller connections will T off of the first canister

    Sorry. Another Charcoal Canister Question

Thank you. I guess I had 8 and 9 mixed up with 6 and 7. That makes sense as the new carb doesn't have a bowl vent and 7 and 9 are connected on some vehicles on vehicles that do...

    Sorry. Another Charcoal Canister Question

If I remember correctly, you would connect the small line (where the green line goes) to a ported vacuum source and then connect the larger hose under it to manifold vacuum, you could T off of the PCV. This allows full vacuum on the canister, but the ported source opens up the valve... You could...

    Box fuel tank

If the vehicle is supposed to have a return line and it is blocked off it will try and pull a vacuum on the tank. You could always leave the gas cap off and see if your problem goes away, just to make sure. Funny story though. I used to work for an emissions shop and a camaro came in and it...

    Matching numbers block

I look at it this way. 10-15 years ago you couldn't really give away a square body truck here, but now they are becoming a big deal again. Maybe one day having a numbers matching block will have a serious effect on the resale value even if right now I can't think of anyone who would care...

    1989 r1500 burb, 5.7 AC troubles.

Sent a PM with my phone number because I probably won't be on much longer today. Also just for shits and giggles, when it is idling and you have the gauges on it, watch your high side pressure when it is hot and then pour some water on the radiator/condenser and watch how far the pressure drops.

    1989 r1500 burb, 5.7 AC troubles.

They both work on the same principles, just different ways of doing it sometimes. I do commercial and industrial A/C as well. There are some things that are different though. I don't usually pull as deep of a vacuum on cars because of the rubber hoses. If they are new then you are fine, but as...

    1989 r1500 burb, 5.7 AC troubles.

A/C is fairly simple in idea. I'm bored and I'll give you a very basic rundown. (or anyone else who comes across this thread later) The refrigerant is compressed by the compressor and it is changed from a low pressure gas to a high pressure gas, then it is run to the condenser where it will...

I agree, it sounds like you're not getting enough air through the condenser and radiator. I bet your high side pressures are up there too when it happens.

Got my '73 GMC C10 shipped over from Arizona! Starting the work.

Nice truck. It's a damn shame I couldn't have just had a couple doors dropped in the bed of the truck before it left AZ. I know of 3 square bodies in the junkyards right now. I am sure there are many more...

Lifter valley oil splash shield in a BBC

My gen 6 motor had one too. I don't think it would hurt to have. It may not really help though.

    Greetings from Northern Arizona!

Welcome from a little bit south of you. I'm in Mesa. Let me know if you are looking for any specific parts, might be a bit easier to find them down here.

    No way this is right?

That should do the trick and solve the problem.

    No way this is right?

I believe you should take out the PCV valve from the driver side cover. You have one on the passenger side and it pulls air into the carb/manifold. If you have 2 PCV valves then you are not letting air back into the motor, which is why they usually pull clean air from the air filter housing or a...

    2wd vs 4wd exhaust?

I don't believe it would be an issue for manifolds. I know for headers the 2wd will slope back at a steeper angle so that they don't come in contact with the control arms.

    Another new guy

So, I figure it is time to join a square body forum since I finally have another square. Last weekend I purchased a 1978 C3500 Dually crew cab with a 454 and TH400 so it will be my new toy. I've had a number of square bodies and several obs trucks and suburbans and a couple nbs models as well...
