    Axle swap for gear ratio

Wire wheel on a grinder and dust mask/protective glasses....and patience....all dust shields, rotors, hubs and axles are rust free ready to be wiped down with parts cleaner and primed. Hubs are getting new races, bearings and seals pressed in at machine shop.

    Warn Winch Guard Mod

Mod done The shop cut out the template in 1/2" steel, I primed & painted with engine paint. Most things lined up. I was 1/4" off the bottom hole of the brush guard which interfered with the light. But I got the look and functionality I wanted. Hello license plate and it sits back almost 5".

    Warn Winch Guard Mod

The guard mounted and accessory lights added. A side support from the guard. Traced onto cardboard and pencil adjustments made. Template cut out. Winch will be closer to grill by 3" and winch plate will be 6" higher. Side support removed. As you can see the guard sits too low and...

Show me 36" tires on a 4" lift

My truck is a '86 K10. With factory lift it could clear 33's, but more than a standard bump, when turning, it would rub. So I put on 2.5" Rough Country lift (springs & blocks) and problem solved. Under that lift I tried a set of 35's on the front...it acted the same as the 33's with stock...

Show me 36" tires on a 4" lift

6" is too much and higher than I want. I don't like a lot of fender/tire gap look.

Show me 36" tires on a 4" lift

I'm really thinking that when I put the 3/4 ton Dana 60 & 44 axles on my truck I do NOT want more than a 4" suspension lift. However I think 36x14.5R16.5 tires would look bad ass. Anyone have any pics to share what my plan will look like? I'd rather not fender trim...would I have to add a...

    700R4 shifting issues

Always been this way, not getting worse...just is the way it is. Yes, it downshifts at the slightest incline. Was told to change oil and put in a new TV plunger/sleeve & spring (Sonnax Performer set)...so I did..no real change though.

    Digital rear view

I'm sure this has been done before, but I wanted to show off my digital rear view. It's the one feature I miss from my dodge...may it rest in pieces. It's out of a junk yard Buick or something from the late 90's I think...age and model doesn't really matter. Temp sensor is mounted i front of...

3/4 ton axles for my 1/2 ton...maintenance suggestions?

Just bought new (to me) 3/4 ton axles for my 1/2 ton...going from 3.42 to 4.10 gears. Any suggestions on what I should do to service them pre-transplant? I don't want, nor do I have the budget to, completely rebuild them. But I also want to do what I can to make sure they're going to be fine...

    Factory tach not working

Solved Installed new tach after a final verification that the wiring was good. Didn't work. I made up a few words you haven't even heard yet! Started playing with the two tachs, comparing new circuit boards to old tach (found a dark did colored spot on old...it was fried). Long story...

    Factory tach not working

Ok, ran test light. Started truck, probed TACH port on distributor...lit up. Probed fuse panel where I have it hooked up...lit up. Up next...take apart dash...again...and probe other end of pigtail on back of tach?
