    Rough Country vs Tuff Country

Yes it was a typo...35's was meant. My '86 K10 cleared 33's with stock suspension, but did rub with much flex...like driving over a curb or hitting a bump while turning.

    Rough Country vs Tuff Country

Tuff Country springs ride extremely well, but they are more like 3" rather than 4" and won't allow for 33" tires. The Universal shackle set up 1.5" to allow for settling made the difference. Now time for new shocks as the RC hydrostatic I have are too long and bottom out as well as settle...

    Rough Country vs Tuff Country

Ok, solution...I think....run a Universal Adjustable shackle at about 3/4 of an inch to make clearance & allow for settling. We will see how that goes. Hit a good bump on purpose with steering wheel turned and bent the back inner lip of the fender back even more...put it in reverse and did it...

    Rough Country vs Tuff Country

Tires are BFG 35x12.5 R15 Rims are 15x8 Rubber to fender seems to be evenly gapped from edge to fender well edge.

    Rough Country vs Tuff Country

I put on RC 4" lift with my axle swap & 35" BFGs. They lived up to their name...very rough ride...my wife hates to go anywhere with me. So I switched to Tuff Country EZ Ride due to all of the research I did. However the differences were interesting! RC is much heavier due to 2 more leaves...

    Bad, bad, bad...bad vibrations

At about 73 mph a vibration started under the truck...vibrated the whole cab. Ok at 70 and ok at 75...thoughts? New rubber & rims a month ago with alignment & wheels balanced.

    I am screwed!

Simple answer...Gremlins! No oil pressure = defunct oil pressure sending unit Over heating = defunct fan clutch Intermittent spark = starter wire that connects to main harness laying on exhaust manifold and melted through All At The Same Time. Cost to fix all, test drive twice, ensure motor...

    I am screwed!

90 degrees, AC runnin, CC on...drove 25 miles...truck looses all power and dies! New GM Goodwrench 350. 290hp, 2 years old. Temp gauge is in the red suddenly....let it cool down...won't start....tow back to town. Next day they get it to start, no oil pressure and intermittent spark...can't...

    Jumpy steering

In my research on shocks I found: "the ride difference is amazing. Now bumps only result in a single response versus flopping all over the damn road. It's just over all more pleasant to drive...." They used "Monroe Gas-Matics for an '02 F350 Super Duty cab&chassis 4x4 w/7.3L, part number...

    Constant chirp

Put on the new axles....there's a constant chirp from the rear as I go. Not faster or slower...just steady. However, if I lightly touch brake as I'm going it'll stop....thoughts?

    Jumpy steering

New ball joints on drivers side helped immensely! Also firmed up steering tensioner adjustment on steering box....big help and more control there now too. Now to ditch the RC's for Tuff Country EZ Ride.

    Axle swap for gear ratio

Well OK....I am taking the majority advice and ditching the new RC 4" springs up front (60 day return policy). I am switching them out for a new set of Tuff Country EZ Ride 4" springs...sure hope it helps! Yes, at some point I will probably ditch the new RC hydro shocks for Bilsteins too...

    Axle swap for gear ratio

With 4" RC lift, but from the ride im experiencing...im thinkin i chose the wrong lift company....very rough/bouncy...my wife now hates riding in my truck cause its so bad....no clue what to do about that....

    Axle swap for gear ratio

Ok, other than too many cinder block orientation comments (blocks were changed shortly after taking pic due to realizing they were placed incorrectly)...the job is done. Steering creaked constantly and was hard to control when I hit any bump.....removed driver tire, drive shaft and...

    Jumpy steering

Just did the axle swap and put on 4" rough country lift. Then got an alignment. When I hit a bump or sudden dip or rail road tracks the steering gets a bit scary/jumpy or bounces to where I have to work on keeping it goin straight. If I let go of the wheel it goes all over the place....kinda...

    Axle swap for gear ratio

Axle dropped. New axle in place. Front in place. Final product....can't drive it yet though...rubs BADLY in front (only a 2" lift on now). Sigh, 4" lift coming tomorrow.
