    Hub Extremely Hot and Wobbles

Mine still have locating pin. Telling me until it feels right is like when your grandma says a pinch of this and a dash of that in a recipe. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Hub Extremely Hot and Wobbles

can someone explain to me the outer lock nut torque value? I get it, service manual says to torque wheel bearing retainer nut to 50 ft lbs then back off then torque to 35 ft lbs then back off no more than 3/8 turn. Then torque outer lock nut to 160-205 ft lbs. That amount of torque moves the...

    Hub Extremely Hot and Wobbles

Thanks guys. I got this figured out this past Saturday. It turns out that the u joints rusted completely frozen. Too much salt here in the mountains of NC. When I turned it got bound up and wasn't even straight. Had a slight angle which caused wobble and death to the spindle and nuts. As much...

    Hub Extremely Hot and Wobbles

Trying to torque locknut most definitely messed up the lock washer and stripped the threads when it moved out of the keyway. What would make it wobble? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Hub Extremely Hot and Wobbles

Currently in the middle of putting 4.56 gears in a set of 10bolts from an 83 K5 that I got for practically free. They are in much better shape (not rusty) than mine and doing a total rebuild at the same time. Yesterday it felt like the passenger auto hub currently on my truck had not unlocked...

    Leaf Spring Identification

Mine are the same on these swap axle. One is oblong, the other is round. Be interesting to see if my current axle is the same, I know it hasn't been in an accident. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Leaf Spring Identification

What I am asking is, they have to be round head correct? These are not factory springs that I know of. He ordered them and then went with dana 60 front so he gave them to me with the 10 bolts. The holes on the spring perches are oval/oblong so the head needs to be what size? I guess I need to...

    Leaf Spring Identification

The bolt head is an allen key head. They look brand new except that they have been cut off on the end that the nut is on. Would any grade 8 bolt work? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Leaf Spring Identification

I got a matching set of 10 bolts from an 83 K5. 3.73 gears to replace my abysmal 2.77 gears that came stock in my 83 K10. The guy just gave me these leaf springs. He said they are HD Snow Plow front springs. It has a number painted on it. 08613. This doesn't come up in a google search. There...

    Rear Axle Stamp

My truck has 2.73 and tons of rust. He says these are G80 3.73. Im lazy right now to open the cover and will...

    dropping gas tanks?

You can almost stick your head through the rear wheel well and see everything. 1. take the filler neck rubber hoses off. 2. reach up above tank and remove ground wire from top of sender. it just pushes on. 3. it is easier to unbolt the tank strap from the frame. 4 bolts for each strap. DO...

The Joy & Sorrow of Steering

I could feel it on the one load of wood I got w/o the sway bar. I already had bought the stuff so I wanted it back on. And comparing a live front axle 33 year old truck to an FJ and Tblazer is like apples & oranges in my opinion. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

You know, not that bad really. The rust really slows it down. I could probably replace these newer ones in 30 min. The sway bar was the PITA...and I thought it would be a piece of cake Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

I did not, rag joint is ok. The box, I did tighten the adjustment. It may be going out but I put only a 1000 miles on it a year so I see no need until it is real bad. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
