    4l60e and a 307 gear.

truck will probably almost be idling when going down the highway. My 3.08s and 700r4 are barely at 1350 rpm. We both need a lower (higher number) gear. I want 3.73, only bad part is I need two sets for both axles. You need only one. I hear you will actually get better MPG with a 3.73 since the...

    1977 C10 not getting fuel

You say it happens when at idle and then you can't crank it. Sounds like vapor lock to me. The fuel is turning into a gas before it gets to the fuel pump or carb. Check the routing of the gas lines from the tank all the way to the carb and I bet one is too close to something hot...

84 GMC white smoke raw feul smell

blown head gasket check the spark plugs like mentioned above, see if they are "green" tinted. another test is to take cap off radiator, fill to top. Crank truck and fill again to top, then hold RPM at 2000 and watch for what looks like boiling water. that is hydrocarbons entering the coolant...

    Another wiring problem!! Help!!

First thing to do is check your ground for the rear lamps, dim lights indicate a bad ground. If you have a fleetside then it will be behind the driver side tail lamp. Next, check the sockets for each rear bulb. Make sure they are not corroded and all contacts are clean. Then check your flasher...

Fuel filler keeps backing up... Ideas?

I didn't say mine did it.... in fact I can put it on full blast and it will click off perfectly fine. Funny how it works well on one and not another. Then again I have metal piping for my filler neck/return line with small sections of hoses, and it has GM stamping on the pipes which seems odd...

Fuel filler keeps backing up... Ideas?

the angles on the filler neck aren't that great. some people have to feather the gas pump all the time. pull it back some, don't shove it all the way in and fill it up. if that doesn't work, then start looking at the return line on the filler neck. my question is why didn't you just buy a new...

    Fuel Problems, HELP!

Use siphon to get gas or through filter neck. Unbolt the brace brackets from frame, 4 bolts each brace bracket. Do not unbolt the strap retaining nut. Lower tank, unhook fuel lines and ground wire. Use hammer and screwdriver to take off lock ring. Pull sending unit out.

    factory temp gauge wire color

use a test light or wire and ground it to the engine. Gauge should peg high. If not, then either a broken wire or gauge is faulty. I would guess since someone went through the trouble to put new gauge elsewhere, gauge is gone. Or I guess the sender could go bad but I doubt it.

    Problem with a Turbo 400R4 Transmission in my 1990 Suburban V8 4x4.

question... do you mean a 700r4 or a TH400?? 700r4 is 4 speed auto... TH400 is a 3 speed auto. Get up under the truck and look at the trans oil pan. Use this for reference... Depending on what you really have will change the answer you get.

transmission fourth gear shift to early

Yes, it's an overdrive trans. So 3rd is passing gear, sometimes 2nd. Converter lockup almost feels like a 5th gear. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
