4" rough country all spring lift

What bumper are you running on the front of your Blazer? My current bumper doubles as an air tank, and frankly, its visual appeal has just worn off. I plan to build a separate air tank and mount it up under the truck along the passenger side frame rail, but I am looking for new bumper ideas...

    Shocks for lift

Same boat as you...I've run 5125s on my rock crawler, and they work well. I am going to be picking up a set of 5100s today for the front of my burb. The specs on the 33-185552 are: Collapsed = 15.91" Extended = 25.93" Travel = 10.02"

4" rough country all spring lift

Not sure if I can add any valuable information to help you with your decision, but I will try: Tuff Country advertises their HD springs as being adequate for trucks with big block motors OR heavy duty winch bumpers. They will tell you that these springs will not provide the specified lift...

    Performance flywheel/clutch

Dude, he's 15. Everybody has to learn one way or another. Most 15 year olds are busy playing video games or glued to their phones/tablets/etc. At least this kid is getting under his truck and doing something with his hands. I know I wasn't dropping transmissions and swapping clutches when I...

Opinions on getting my truck level

Looks like more than 1 hair to me. Not sure if a leaf will get him where he wants to be.

    Performance flywheel/clutch

No. You will have to drop the oil pan, potentially remove the oil pick-up, and remove the rear bearing retainer cap. Should be able to get the seal out then. Do yourself a huge favor and go to the auto parts store and spend $30 on a Haynes manual. Or order one for cheaper on amazon.

    Identification Help

Front looks like a 10-bolt. If it has 8-lug hubs (which I am assuming it does), then it would be considered the "corporate 10-bolt" front axle. Rear looks like a 14-bolt semi-float..not the "corporate" 14-bolt. The "corporate" 14-bolt is a full-floating axle.

Which year were hydraulic clutches introduced?

I'll throw my $0.02 in here...I have an SM465 behind my 454. Mine is mated to an aluminum bellhousing set up for hydraulic clutch linkage. I have had no issues with my bellhousing, and I put my motor and trans to use towing. I run it down the interstate around 60-65 mph on the regular. It...

Glad you got it out. Next time try the grease method. You'll be surprised at how simple and easy it is.

Pretty sure Haynes says to pack it full of grease.

Here's another one. Super clean, but the price is high for my taste. https://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/5990478548.html

Peanut butter would probably work...but I wouldn't trust anything other than JIF. And if you go this route, stick with creamy. Gotta stay away from that crunchy shit.

I really hope someone scoops this up before I try to convince myself that I need another big block suburban in my garage. Right now, my saving grace is that it is 2wd. But it is a pretty 2wd...

    Performance flywheel/clutch

You will have to do it a few times, packing more grease in each time.

    Performance flywheel/clutch

I have always used the grease trick. I think it would work better than bread, as bread has lots of air voids in it. Pack as much grease as you can get in there. Then use a piece of round bar stock (or something similar) that is almost the same diameter as the inside of the bearing to punch...

    K10 lift on K20?

According to ORD, the front springs appear to be the same between the K10 and K20. http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/TuffCountry73to87Front.htm You should be good to go on the front.

    K10 lift on K20?

If the rear is a 14bff you will need longer u-bolts specific to that axle. 1/2 ton trucks came with a 10 bolt axle that has a smaller tube diameter, so the u-bolts that come with a 1/2 ton lift kit will not fit around the tubes of a 14bff. The only way I can see you getting away with not...

    K10 lift on K20?

What axle is in the rear of your truck? You may need different U-bolts if you have an axle with larger diameter axle tubes than a 10 bolt axle.

    K10 lift on K20?

I believe he is planning to run blocks in the rear, so spring length in the rear likely will not matter.

I guess I blew up the hubs.

Also, my comment about drive flanges was kind of a joke. Drive flanges (sometimes referred to as drive slugs) are a means for engaging your front axle shafts full time. They are not selectable like locking hubs; however, they are generally much stronger due to no moving or serviceable internal...

I guess I blew up the hubs.

After some brief googling, it looks like those are internal locking hubs. At first glance they look like selectros (the selector cap is similar) which, best I can tell, were only available as an external locking hubs. I only recently learned about external hubs when I swapped a dodge Dana 60...

I guess I blew up the hubs.

That pic is much more clear than the previous pic you posted. BUTTTT it looks to me like you may have a bastardized set of locking hubs on there. I say that because your wheel hubs do NOT appear to be external style hubs, but the locking hub cap looks like the selectro cap which belongs on an...

I guess I blew up the hubs.

^ What he said. Those look like selectros, which are indeed external locking hubs. And they do have a bit of a uniqueness factor to them. Your options are not quite as plentiful when it comes to external locking hubs. But I do believe Warn makes a Premium replacement. I have run Warn...
