    "Rebuilt" 700r4 issues

Good to hear, I agree. How sensitive is the tv cable to adjustment? Would a quarter inch really make THAT MUCH of a difference?

    "Rebuilt" 700r4 issues

I got it to work by loosening the tv cable. But now at WOT there's still a little bit more that i can pull out on the cable. Do I need to be worried about this? My shifts seem to be stacked a little bit too now that its loosened. How sensitive are these cables to adjustment?

Is my '85 GMC 350 hydraulic roller cam or flat tappet?

I would assume it's hydraulic flat tappet, if you want to be sure, pop the intake off and take a look, or a valve cover, maybe you could peek down the bore. I wouldn't take any valves loose though, not just to check

    "Rebuilt" 700r4 issues

Il have to give that a try, the builder was just over and said I needed to re adjust my tv linkage and talked me through it, il check the governor tomorrow if that Dosent work. If it is a sticking governor, should I be able to just take it out and clean it with brakleen?

Also, a note on my tv adjustment. I pressed the sliding bit am the way back into the housing, locked the throttle cable down with slight preload, and nailed the gas down allowing the slider to come forward as much as it naturally would, ensuring that the point of max throttle and max tv movement...

    "Rebuilt" 700r4 issues

I was able to get my "rebuilt" 700r4 swap done this weekend, but it won't shift out of first. Im very sure now that the tv cable is right, even got the eddy adapter bit. I got it to shift once, then put it manually in first for a sec, put it back in drive, and nada. My thought is the governor...

Where can I find new ones???

Yea those look to be in really good condition, maybe just clean it up with a wire wheel and dremmil, sand blast, chemicals etc, whatever you like. They should take really well to some new paint

    Broke a 4L80e mounting ear

If you have wood longer than the width of the pan you'll be fine to use a standard jack, I just pulled my th350 like that and will install a 700r4 the same way in a few hours

    Extended brake lines ?

Zip ties, but shouldn't there be a bracket to hold the line? It would help to see it
