Im sure even the thin casting would be fine in my application(under 5k rpm, stock engine mounts) but i was being overly cautious because my truck sees some ruff terrain. Might even be what is in there because it was rebuilt in about 2014, before i got it, but im gonna run it for now and worry...
Apparently, the thin castings are everywhere unless you go for a performance pump. My research is done. Ill run what i got till it wont run no more and figure it out then.
The M55 is the lower end. Used to be the old standby, now a farmed out, thinner casting, from what i can gather. The select(or performance i think they call it) line have a 5 digit number like 10553. The 5 digit number ends with a “st” for their “sharks tooth” pumps(helical cut gears). From what...
Im gearing up for a manual trans swap and while I've got it apart I'm going to do the rear main seal. While I'm in there i feel like i might as well replace the oil pump(cheap insurance). Of course the first place i looked was Melling, and specifically the M55. Im reading that in 2006ish they...
If its an automatic, try jiggling the shift handle and checking the wires on the neutral saftey switch. I cant tell u exactly where the switch is because mine hangs under the dash, but the wires should be purple. Mine comes disconected and theows me for a loop every once and a while. U will have...
The middle belt will slide too. Most seats come with a metal clip to secure the belt to itself. Looks kinda like an "H" iirc. Might b clipped to the bottom of the base of the car seat.
Hell yeah! Dont be scared, just be carefull. Biggest things to watch out for are other drivers and poor road surface(sand ect). Find some back roads n take it easy at first. U can do it, just like ridin a bike. ;):waytogo: Heres mine
Im running 17" pro comp d window steel wheels with kanati trail hog 315/75/17 at tires. Wheels were like $60-80 a piece and i want to say the tires were right around $200 a piece. I think the trail hogs are fantastic, but they wouldnt be for everyone. Theyre really thick, which means heavy and...
Van lights did work at the time. Maybe your battery was dead at first? Van is an auto aswell(so is my truck, autos have a neutral saftey switch)and i hadnt touched anything in the column either, other than drive it. Probly is a loose connection somewhere, just sayin try jiggling the shifter if...
My wife got stuck in my 78 g10. Wouldnt crank. Three guys(including me) crawling around underneath, under the hood, checking connections and banging on the starter solenoid. One guy reaches up and jiggles the column shifter. Starts right up. Neutral saftey switch with a little slop in it. Maybe...
