    I ordered a body mounting kit from LMC (if I can say that) Rubber bushings and loads of hardware. No instructions included that I have seen......... I called them and they don't know.....

    My body mounting kit contains 4 shims 1/8" thick to sit atop the cab mount bushings. My C10 did not have any shims from the factory. Does this mean that I do not need to install them with the new bushings? The only dumb question is one that is not asked....

    Front brake hoses

    IN THEORY,11X2 Rear brakes , JB3, would have front rotors 1" thick. My 84 C10 was not this way, and it gave me fits..... It had JB3 rears and JB5 fronts (!-1/8" thick rotors) and JB5 booster. Best to measure the front rotor thickness to determine brake hoses....

    Now that I look back, it was another forum which censored my posts if they contained names of online suppliers. For the record, the bushings I purchased from LMC were WAY oversized.....Sent bacl for full refund, including freight both ways. I bought my MOOG parts from Amazon at great prices...

    You will need to separate the ball joints/spindles in order to replace control arm bushings. That may result in damaging the grease boots on the ball joints. Ball joints don't cost much, so.............. Just remember to torque the bushing nuts with vehicle's weight on the suspension.

    I took a 1x4 piece of red oak cut to length to fit between the outer flange, then cut 2 grooves across the face in the locations of the inner webs. In so doing, I held each channel open as well as maintained the overall width.......

    Didn't have to.....it got down to 28° when I pressed 'em in... and a spacer to keep the control arm sides from moving helped too! Moral of the story is, this is a job for the dead of winter.........

    I have a set of sleeves supposedly for the job. I have sleeves which contact the bushing flanges immediately outside of the rubber insert flange. Yet the flanges deflect when the press is used. I must be doing something wrong....

    The design is for the shaft NOT to rotate in the bushing. The shaft is s'posed to lock the bushing center sleeve tightly, having all movement coming from within the elastomer. That is why the shaft nuts are supposed to be torqued with weight on the suspension.
